Angel Alvarez-Suspect Survives 21 Gunshot Wounds: Luis Soto Dead in Shooting – Being shot once or twice is enough to stop most people, but being shot 21 times would be a death sentence. Not so for Angel Alvarez from New York, who survived, possibly a record, 21 bullets from New York policemen.

Mr Alvarez, 23, was at a Harlem street party in the wee hours of Sunday morning, when, allegedly, he shot and killed Luis Soto, 23, after an argument over a woman.

After the shooting New York police, who were monitoring the party, swooped in and fired their weapons at Mr Alvarez, who just wouldn’t go down after being shot almost to pieces.

Police claim that when Mr Alvarez saw the police, he turned his gun on them. Over 50 shots were fired in the exchange, with 46 of them being from the policeman’s guns. At least 21 of these bullets penetrated Mr Alvarez’s body wounding him in his arms, legs, abdomen and jaw.

Mr Alvarez is currently in hospital, and as of last night was in a critical condition. Doctors say all the bullets miss his vital organs.

One policeman was hurt in the affray, with a bullet hitting him in the chest, and another suffered a graze on his hand from a stray bullet.

The NYPD cops must be really crappy shots. It seems that they always get into shoot outs in which mass quantities of bullets are fired with hardly anyone injued. Sounds like they need more range time.
