This reporter knows very little about dogs.
Before he tried to pat the dog, Barney’s tail
was not wagging and he kind of lunged for the
reporter. Then the dumb reporter approaches
Barney from the side and tries to pet him,
Barney’s tail still was not up. When ap-
proaching a dog, one should stand in front of
him where he has a clear view of you, then
extend an open palm to him slowly. If he is
interested, he will sniff it and let you pat
him. I’d be willing to bet this reporter has
never owned a dog.
