Bob Etheridge Attacks Reporter:Congressman Etheridge Assault On Student Video – Representative Bob Etheridge was recently caught on camera harassing a young student who was filming him and asking questions. He grabbed the young man by the hand, arm and neck. Throughout the incident, the video camera continued to film, and it became apparent fairly quickly that the situation had escalated from a annoyed politician to one who was capable of physically harming the student. He had asked him if he supported Barack Obama’s agenda.The politician immediately issued an apology for the incident after the clip ended up online and quickly spread around many political blogs online.

“I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved,” Etheridge said in the statement that he released after the video made its way online and spread like wildfire. “Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response.”

The incident has garnered attention from many different media sources. Some have already called for Etheridge to step down from his position, and criticism from both parties has been heavy in the wake of the incident. He is in his 7th term in the house, and asked the man to identify himself several times throughout the course of the video. The questioner who was filming the incident is as a student but has not been identified so far.
