Bristol Palin Pregnant:Sarah Palin Daughter Baby
Bristol Palin Pregnant:Sarah Palin Daughter Baby - Apparently Bristol Palin was pregnant and her mother Sarah Palin who is John McCain’s VP pretended to have the baby to spare her 17 year old daughter the embarrassment of a teenage pregnancy.Sarah Palin allegedly had Bristol Palin’s baby named Trig Paxson Van who is 4 months old and has Down’s Syndrome.According to Alaskans media outlets Sarah Palin never looked pregnant, and Bristol Palin was taken out of Anchorage high school for 5 months during her mother’s pregnancy for a prolonged case of mono. To add fuel to this rumor, the Alaska Department of State has now taken down all the photos of Sarah Palin and her family from their website.
Is Sarah Palin a grandmother or is this just another smear?
That’s all we have for now on Bristol Palin Pregnant:Sarah Palin Daughter Baby.

If this rumour proves to be true then it will clearly signal the end of John McCain’s campaign.
But if it is false, will you publicly apologize for publicly trying to smear a candidate’s child, let alone the candidate herself? If not, does that mean you’re advocating similar smear tactics be used on Barack Obama’s two daughters?
I’m most curious.

This story is something THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. The mainstream media needs to start doing their job, or are we going to have to depend on The National Enquirer to find out the truth. I don’t know what girl only grows in the belly and boobs due to mono.

Hmm, the fact that the baby has Downs Syndrome makes me think the baby is indeed Sarah Palin’s and not her daughters. Older women have a higher risk of having babies with Downs Syndrome.

You have to admit this story is very strange –the facts just don’t add up.
Leaking amniotic fluid, give a speech, fly back to Alaska from TX, in labor, one month premature and go to a rural clinic and not a large hospital, and go to work three days later?
Sounds pretty odd to me!
Why bring the Obama children into this? Typical cross-eyed thinking of Republican apologists.

And, I’d like to see them stop carting that infant around like a trophy!
4 months old is too young for that kind of treatment and exposure to all those people.

My mother is a retired pediatric nurse with 30 years of experience (she retired just a few years ago). She said that Bristol looks 4-5 months pregnant in the one photo while she can’t see any evidence of pregnancy in the photos of Sarah when she was supposedly seven months pregnant.
As to the details of Palin’s Texas trip and the subsequent birth, my mother scoffed at the whole story, saying that it not only “is fishier than tuna,” but finds the idea that her doctor would have encouraged her to get on that plane “unbelievable.” Moreover, she characterized Sarah’s purported behavior as “negligent” and the VP nominee risked contracting sepsis if this was true, which could have been grave indeed for both baby and mom in a worst case scenario.
Also, keep in mind that Down’s Syndrome can have some nasty complications and there is a shortage of information that indicates that the baby spent anytime in ICU, which is normal procedure for a preemie with special needs.
Here is what probably actually happened:
At 4 a.m. Texas time, she gets a cellphone call that her daughter’s water had broken. Palin had to keep the story congruent with what was happening to her daughter, so she told everyone her water had broken when that was not the case. She called her daughter’s physician before she got on the plane and flew to Seattle and then called him again before flying on home. The daughter gave birth the next morning.
Oh, I didn’t mention one thing: Palin’s daughter had been pulled out of school five months before she gave birth, ostensibly for “mono.” In a lot of neighborhoods in America, “mono” is a code word for “I got knocked up” or “I did some time in a correctional facility” among juveniles. How convenient.
Palin had to maintain this charade because she didn’t want her Christian Right followers to know that her daughter had given birth out of wedlock and sinned. She has thus lied to the media and the American people and she will be greeted like Linda Smith (the murderer) by her evangelical following, who she also lied to, if she is found out.
The selection of her by McCain also follows a pattern of behavior. He has always been highly impulsive, his native impatience marked by his refusal, for example, to read flight manuals while he was in the Navy. He was protected by his father, a big shot admiral, and could get away with it. He womanized like it was going out of style and crashed at least four airplanes (millions in taxpayer money, also making him a worse pilot turned pol than Bob Dornan) before he was shot down by the North Vietnamese. But even there, he was treated relatively gently compared to the treatment meted out to other and lesser known prisoners.
His first wife saw him through his convalescence and then he jumped into an affair with his current wife. His impulsiveness raised its head again after meeting Palin just once before naming her his VP nominee.
Once she is found out and forced to step down, that will make McCain’s presidential bid a Campaign to Nowhere. Neither of these two has the integrity to be the leader of the free world. And the above demonstrates that amply.
The doctor has backed up Sarah’s story, but he may have motives of his own for doing so, such as getting more state business in exchange for cooperating in this media ruse or perhaps even wanting to become the next Bill Frist or Tom Coburn himself, something Palin could help arrange, though I am obviously just guessing here.
Whatever the case, the infant has been used as a prop for political gain, an emblem of Sarah’s dedication to the pro life cause and Christian values. That should make anyone ill.
My thoughts are with Bristol, who is probably a nice kid who made a mistake a lot of young girls do, who has been put between a rock and a hard place by her conniving parents. Please send her lots of love while we remonstrate the folks for this fiasco.

I’m still in shock and awe. I agree with you Rob.
The person hurt is that young woman and that baby and I don’t want to see that.
I’m not an expert, but I’m a woman and to me that girl is pregnant. People are saying that well it is more likely to have a special needs child at Palin’s age. Who knows their medical history? I never even heard of this woman until the other day.
My friend that is a doctor told me, which is sick, sad, but true, incest can cause those problems. I hate to feel like the person to even suggest such a horrible thing.
I saw McCain’s speech with this woman today. He called Tom Ridge, “John” Ridge. He’s clearly angry, out of it, and mad at his people for making this rash decision.
I can’t want for their speech tomorrow.

I have no idea why she would choose to head to Alaska after her own water broke, though, but those Alaskan women are not the weenies we have down hear on the lower 48.

Palin’s youngest son has Down Syndrome. All the incest in the world wouldn’t cause down syndrome because it’s an issue of a sex cell not dividing properly. This becomes much more frequent with age. Incest can cause mental disabilities, but not Down’s.
Niki | Aug 31, 2008 | Reply
Older women have a higher risk, but because younger women are more fertile, they are the mothers of 80% of down syndrome babies.
I think this story is definitely something to look into. If Bristol weren’t showing (which some young girls don’t do) she could’ve kept her pregnancy secret up until a point where she knew she couldn’t deny it to her family any longer. Her parents could’ve taken pictures and whatnot thinking everything was okay. And then her daughter dropped the bomb.
We don’t know anything about this woman. While peopel may say it’s none of our business now, go back to when Bill Clinton or recently John Edwards got outed for lies they stated. Palin, now that she’s decided to become very public, is not above being investigated as well.

You better PRAY TO GOD that you’re right about this story, though, otherwise you’ve smeared TWO INNOCENT CHILDREN and made girls and women everywhere who don’t have flat-as-a-pancake stomachs to feel fat.

I think the baby is Bristol’s. I think the family hoped to cover up Bristol’s pregnancy, which resulted from either lack of birth-control or rape. Being the fundamentalist Palin is, her religious beliefs do not tolerate any kind of intervention after the sex act-it can be construed as “abortion” because the egg could have been fertilized. So, the daughter had pre-marital sex which resulted in pregnancy. (And pre-marital sex is not condoned either.) I think the intention was to give the baby up for adoption, but when they discovered the baby had Down Syndrome that possibility went away, so it seemed the best option was for Palin to claim the baby was hers in order to protect the daughter. This is admirable. But Palin knew about these rumors (if such they be) months ago-where Palin went wrong was to say “Yes” to McCain. Had she stayed in Alaska none of us would have even heard these rumors, and her daughter’s privacy would have been protected.

I feel sorry for her daughter and the fact that people are smearing her family. I myself am the same age as Bristol and keep myself in very good shape. Trust me, I know what my figure looks like. All teenage girls do, that is just the way it is, unfortunately.
I hate to tell you folks, but almost a third of the other girls I go to school with have these so called “baby-bumps.” Many of my friends are built just like she is in these pictures, which were taken back in late 2006 when her mother was elected into office as governor. And you know what?
None of them are pregnant.
Some girls just naturally have a little bit of extra tummy-fat. That’s the way it is. If an adult pointed out every girl they saw with a “baby-bump” then about one-in-four girls at my school would be accused of being pregnant. Everyone is built different, whether pregnant or not.
Besides, if my calculus-overwhelmed mind can still do simple addition and subtraction, then Palin’s daughter being pregnant in that picture and then giving birth in April of 2008 would simply be impossible.
Or a freak of nature.
And we teenage girls often wears jeans that are just a tad tighter than what is normally considered comfortable, and then wear shirts that are either tight or make us look rather pregnant. This has been the style for the last two years or so. And the combination of tight jeans with a rather skin-forming shirt will often result in a slight “bulge” along the bottom of our waistlines. This is normal!!
And has anyone ever heard of padded bras? I would say that almost half the girls I know at school wear them. When I look at that picture of Bristol Palin, I see a girl who is built very similar to myself and many of my friends.
Besides, I don’t know what most of you adults think, but us teenagers are not that surprised when we see a pregnant girl at school. There are at least three at mine. And there are also a small number of kids who are absent from school for extended periods of time. Most of us don’t even think twice about it.
And since they live in a frigid climate like Alaska, I would not find it surprising in the least if quite a few kids have had to take extended absences. One of my friends had a severe case of mono last winter (I’m sure Alaskan winters are even worse than Minnesotan winters) and was out of school for almost three months. I’m sure they would be even more careful about any long-term illnesses in a place like Alaska.
I’ve even read where people are saying that they saw her daughter wearing a wedding band in a recent picture. Here’s another revelation to people: many teenage girls wear rings on their left ring finger. I wear my class ring on my left ring finger and so do many of my friends. It’s typical and no teenager even thinks twice about it.
Also, what’s wrong with a much older sister carrying her baby brother. My little brother is much younger than me and I loved to carry him around when he was under one year of age. Truthfully, I was better at it than my own father was and I’m guessing that’s because my sisterly-maternal instincts kicked in. He sure as hell wasn’t my kid though. There are many teenagers out there like my older brother and I who were in our teens when our little brothers or sisters were born. And for a teenage girl, having a baby sibling in the house can be both exciting and exhausting.
But, boy, do we love to carry the little tykes around.
And as for Sarah Palin going into labor in Texas, my mother always tells other expecting mothers how she had started leaking amniotic fluid almost five days before she went into actual labor with me. She also enjoys telling everyone how she then had me in less than three hours and how I was over 10 pounds too.
My aunt just recently had her sixth baby (an “oops” baby, but who cares, he’s adorable) at the age of 42. In a state like Minnesota where it’s often below freezing for many long months at a time, it can frequently be rather hard to tell if a woman is pregnant during the fall, winter, and spring months due to the sheer amount of clothes you have to wear to stay warm. My aunt did not put on a lot of weight during her pregnancy with Kent and if she had not told everyone she was pregnant, I’m sure quite a few people never would have even noticed until her seventh or eighth month due to the heavy clothes she wore when outside or in public.
The same could easily be said of Sarah Palin, who lives in freezing Alaska.
My opinion: don’t bash until you know the facts.
One of the worst things that can happen to a teenage girl is to be accused of being pregnant when you really are not/were not, especially when said rumors do not hold true to facts. As a fellow teenage girl and older sister, I feel nothing but sympathy for Bristol and her adorable little brother.

I don’t know the entire story. However, if it is true she did not go to a hospital in Texas as soon as her water broke…. That she gave a speech then flew all the way back to Alaska (risking danger to herself and unborn child)… Then I would say with 99% certainty that she is lying.
Even with the 1% chance she is telling the truth (under the scenario above). She is not ready to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency because of her horrible decision making ability under pressure.
I would be willing to go out on a limb and say with 100% certainty that at least 90% of all Adult American Women would have the common sense to immediately go to a hospital if they went into labor.
With McCain’s four battles with cancer lingering in the background. Do you really want someone to become President who’s decision making capabilities rank within the bottom 10% of our nation?

As an MD. There is no way a OB would advise a patient to take a 11hour flight after premature ruptures of membranes with a known down syndrome baby. Especially a multiparous women and high risk delivery. Multiparous women dilate faster and progress quicker thru all phases of labor. A down sundrome baby is high risk and is more liley to have distress on delivery, would one really take a chance of that happening on a 11hr flight with no high tech equipment or potentially no MD on board.
This is either a cover up or Ms. Palin was very irresponsible in her judgement.

I really don’t believe this story….it’s interesting, entertaining, and like the “detective” in me, I like searching around trying to find things on the internet. However, I do not believe it. In fact, I’d be more inclined to believe that this is a Rove tactic…..start a false rumor with the hopes his opposition picks up on it, spends lots of time on it, but eventually is proven false and made to look very stupid. Such a plot is indeed machiavellian, something Rove is famous for. He concocted the rumor in 2000 that McCain fathered an illegitimate child of color…when in fact the McCains had recently adopted a child from Bangladesh.
Having said all of this, I’m voting for the office of President, not Vice President, and I’m voting for Obama. Obama is far less prone to get us into another irresponsible war (as in Iran) than John McCain is. McCain has hired Randy Scheunemann and Robert Kagan as top foreign policy advisors…these guys are Neocons, members of PNAC…the organization which advised Clinton in 1998 to attack Iran…well before 9-11, well before Bush actually did so. PNAC members have included Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Scooter Libby, and a guy named Norman Podhoretz, who earlier this year met with Bush, strongly advised him to attack Iran, and has also said publicly that he “prays” that Bush attacks Iran. Now are these the types of advisors we want John McCain, or anyone, to have???? If Ms. Palin is so good on energy, just think what will happen to the price of a barrel of gasoline if we attack Iran!

Wouldn’t the prudent thing to do, to put these rumors to rest immediately, be to provide some sort of DNA from the baby, the mother and the daughter? She could give it to the National Enquirer and The Wall Street Journal and let them both do independent testing. If the results come back the same and say she is the mom, she’ll probably lose anyway due to her lack of experience and education, but you never know. If they ask her and she refuses, it won’t look good.

I have been following this story and on Digg, there are so many conservatives condemning liberals for being disgusting for even following this story line. I’ve read so many insults to “liberals” because they are curious to have this investigated. But what the conservatives don’t get is that it is not that we WANT to smear a teenager, it’s that the conservatives are so high and mighty and preachy about their so called FAMILY VALUES. They pretend to be a party of less government all the while they want government to dictate a woman’s reproductive rights, the christian right condemns birth control and homosexuality and interracial relationships. The conservative ideology is so smug and so full of attitudes of moral superiority, that when something like this happens, or when Mark Foley gets caught seducing young page boys, YES, WE GET A LAUGH. Not at the behalf of the “victim’s” expense, but at the hypocrisy of it all. If the conservatives would just let people live their lives and but out of relationships that have nothing to do with them, then maybe we “liberals” wouldn’t find so much pleasure in discovering a possibility of a cover up. After all, it is far more plausible for a Pro Life Conservative to do something like this than parents who can admit their teen might have sex and make sure they use proper protection. So it’s not that we want to intentionally smear the Bush daughters (the same way the conservatives ripped apart Chelsea) or Bristol Palin but, rather, we like to see the conservatives shudder in their own self-righteous skin.

I have to agree with many comments before mine. This is only a big deal because of the Republican stance that when they win elections it is a “moral victory”. If Sarah Palin has used her influence to lie about a pregnancy and fire a police officer, she has no place condemning the liberals to be beneath her. You don’t have to be older to have a Down’s baby. Yes, the statistical chances increase, but being over 35 is not a requirement to have a genetic mutation.
Many great parents have children who make bad decisions. Great parents are honest and supportive. We all want to protect our children, just don’t do it on a “higher morals” campaign plight to be VP. This is incredibly bad judgement, if it turns out to be true. The truth is important here. If she were a democrat, Carl Rove would have her hung out to dry already true or not. What is everyone waiting for?

When you look at all the children (particularly the middle daughter) it is clearly at least two years ago. Is the inference supposed to be that Bristol was already showing signs of the pregnancy two years before the baby was born?

If the daughter was pregnant — the liberals would only have been happy if the fetus were aborted. A teen-age girl is pregnant. She has the kid and the parents raise it. That happens all too often. The only “scandal” is that they said it was hers and not her daughter’s to spare the kid the embarrassment. Sure, she could have said, we’re raising our daughter’s son. But what purpose does that serve. They are raising the kid — regardless of who the mom is. If anything, they should be commended for taking responsibility for their child’s actions. Compare this to Edwards, who fathered the kid, cheated on his wife with cancer and paid off an aide to take care of the baby. What is worse? For your sake, let’s hope the October surprise isn’t Obama’s love chid.

In the end, no matter if this is rumor or truth, for a mother to get on an airplane in that condition and jeprodize the life of an innocent baby, is just straight up the most selfish, craziest, and absolutelty stupidest thing I have heard, EVER! Then to make it all the way to Alaska with your fifth child and leaking, not going into labor, is peerly very good luck and not very probable.
I absolutely do NOT believe that ANY doctor gave there okay to this. They would be nutz. Therefore, I do believe this statement to be 100% a lie and an obvious one at that.
In the end, this was one of the poorest choicest that could ever be made. A choice such as this could have only been made by either someone who did not want the pregnancy or someone who did not have enough intelligence to know the danger of this situation.
I can not say I think Palin is stupid, so that leaves me wondering if there is more to this, but no matter which the situation is, as a mother myself, I am disgusted. Also, anyone who goes back to work three days after birth and does not spend any bonding time with their infant, in my eyes, is a bad mother with their priorities screwed up.

I give a F, and the rest of you should too. Sounds like this was an impulsive decision by Johnny Mac after Obama’s speech & the democratic convention and the fact that he just doesn’t have any ideas to help the mess of 8 years of Bush.
As far as judgement: #1, at age of over 40, there is no doctor that will allow a pregnant high risk patient to travel that far from home (Alaska to Texas), by airplane. #2 If she were truly leaking amniotic fluid she would also be extremely irresponsible to continue on with her meetings AND give a speech. #3 Then get on an airplane, with still leaking amnio and fly, in the changing pressurization of commercial aircraft (which would probably have induced a full blown water breaking and delivery folks! — I’m I pilot, know a little about the aeronautics & physics here.)Are your really buying this? If this is really factual, I agree with the nurse who said it smells like stinky tuna!
But back to why you should give a flying F about all this: It’s about the hypocrisy people. Which is something the religious “wrong” usually do often. Like the prominant minister from that New Life Church in Colorado Springs who was paying for a male prostitute & doing meth. All while he railed against Gays and tried to pass the anti gay law in Colorado and “family values”.
Do we really want another bunch of lying, war mongering, anti-science, pro oil company “rulers” in the White House after 8 years of King George and the Evil Empire Emperor “Darth” Cheney? It ought to be a law, if you have so messed up the country after your 8 yrs in office, you have to turn the country over to the other team. THE REPUBLICANS FORFEIT THIS ELECTION, SORRY!!!

But if in the end, you are going to endanger a baby’s life with a very long plane flight while already leaking amniotic fluid, on second thought, pro-choice might just be a pretty good idea!!!

Some of you really are ignorant. I had my last (surprise) baby at 46. I kept it hidden for ages because I didn’t feel like putting up with all the ridiculous statements I got when I finally did tell people (”You’re having a baby at 46? I’d kill myself!”). I did not show much at all. I’m fairly thin, very long-waisted and could have probably gone all nine months without anyone really knowing I was pregnant.
I had my baby on a Wednesday afternoon and was back to my routine by Thursday morning.
Regardless of what the truth turns out to be–please don’t assume that every woman shows when she is pregnant, and that we can’t return to our lives within days. I did with all of mine (we have six).

I had my water break with each of my pregnancies and in both cases the doctor said, get to a hospital immediately because of the risk of the infection. I cannot imagine the kind of mother who would risk a premmie, down syndrome baby, being born with an infection while on an airplane. It is an unbelievably callous and stupid decision. The alternative story - if it that she’s covering up for her daughter’s pregnancy - would be more appealing in contrast. Neither are acceptable for a VP candidate.

you have got to be kidding. are you so inured to the bush/cheney 8 year lie-fest that you don’t care if a candidate for the fucking #2 spot in the country is lying about giving birth to a child she is now waving around like a political placard? that’s asinine and irresponsible, though actually, your judgement seems about on par w/the mccain/palin dream team. ugh. disgusting
AtA | Aug 31, 2008 | Reply
With my first child, my water broke and I then delivered 34 hours later. However I was NOT allowed to fly or even go far from the hospital and my doctor’s office. I was required to constantly check in with the doctor/hospital to check for infection and to check for progression. As it turned out after I gave birth I had a slight infection that required antibiotics. I was in NO condition to then leave the hospital the next day, nor go back to work in 3 days.
I will not address the rumors of Sarah Palin covering for her daughter. I will go with the assumption she’s telling the truth. If so, then I find her actions very irresponsible (to give a speech, then fly 11 hours after her water broke) and she was not looking out for the best interest of her child or even her own health. Further, I know there was circumstances where my doctor would have allowed me to fly the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy. I know that because I had asked!
As others have said, add to that the fact she was over 40 (which makes her high risk and needing to stay closer to home the last trimester) and also that she was having a special needs child. I cannot lend my support to a woman who would take those risks with her unborn child. If she’s willing to take those risks with her child, then how will she react to risky situations when it involves our country?

I too am concerned about the pregnancy story being a booby trap, no pun intended. it’s so fantastical. how could a person expect to get away with so outlandish a scheme, even in a political backwater like alaska? the very fact that someone of palin’s quality is up for consideration is emblimatic of a truth I can hardly bring myself to admit. now I wish I’d never heard about this looming scandal(it’s going to be, one way or another) or about sarah palin, grossly unqualified gop mediocrity that she is.
the people who vote for these cretins, who support the likes of bush, mccain, and their general ilk seem to take pride in ignorance and resistance to reason. we lost out on two statesmen who would have made fime presidents. who at their abject worst couldn’t have reached the level of bungling incompetence and sneering displays of arrogance we’ve had to endure during the bush presidency. now, this sad, tragic chapter will be etched in our nations history for all time, no do overs here, and now we’re staring at a GOP ticket that could conceivably cause us to pine for the good old days of the early 2ooo’s. and don’t kid yourself, they could win. as oft repeated, no one has ever gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the american people.
if this story turns out to be true, it is still no guarantee that we won’t have to hold our collective nose for 4 yrs of mccain. I may still be capable of anger and rightious indignation, but I am quite beyond astonishment at this point. after bush 2ooo, it was clear that the future of our country lay in the hands of a significant portion of the population whose values indicate a near soul-extinguishing commitment to a long, slow demise, marked only by moments of fleeting optimism that maybe, just maybe a leader will seek to inspire us to something greater. I enjoyed one of those moments during obama’s speach at the dnc, but now, the realization returns that our leaders will come in only two flavors: vomit-inducing, or the kind that make one wish for the merely vomit-inducing.
we are doomed by our own populace. it is rome’s demise rewritten for the reality tv epoch. god save us all

Paul Bart,
Regarding your comment on liberals jumping on the Palin/daughter pregnacy issue:
You say that this rumor about Palin has very little substance and then you list all the lies and distortions about Obama that the fear mongoring repugs have created which all are of very little substance also.
What an hypocrite!! But, that’s typical repugs for you. It’s ok when their candidate for Pres (McBush) screws around on his first wife, because he was a “POW”. It’s ok if McBush can’t remember how many houses he owns, because he was a “POW”. It’s just fine if McBush has senior moments (shit for brains), because he was a “POW”.
Give me a break.
That baby is the daughter’s baby. As your Grand Wizard (Bill O’Lielly) would say “JUST SHUT UP!!”

But one must tread carefully.
There is a plot by Karl Rove to obscure the underlying truth but putting out this rumor that has some holes waiting to be blown open, and thereby discrediting those who approach the issue.
This happened with the fake-but-real memo about Bush’s national guard service that destroyed Dan Rather’s career.

Get a LIFE!
Sarah Palin is the mother of the baby, because her name is on the birth certificate. Who conceived this child is immaterial—but Down Syndrome is a problem for women over 40, not really a teenaged mom. My son had mono and was sick off and on for a year.
Pictures can be doctored. Including these. And a runner in good shape is likely to have a very small baby and not ’show’ as much as one who is not in shape. That is a given fact.
For the retired Peds Nurse—I have an MSN and have been pregnant five times. Shame on you dimwat democrats. First Bush bashing and then speaking bad about an American Hero as a POW for 5/12 years and now this! I hope that you all will realize that you are showing your true colors to the American public about being divisive, argumentative and angry all the time. I will be voting for problem solvers not problem creators.

That picture was taken in 2006. This is an OBVIOUS smear, and an outright lie at that. The facts would have to be stretched quite far to fit this story. Oh, and why would Bristol go to an Anchorage school when the Palins lived in Juneau, which is 850 MILES AWAY?! No bus route covers that much land, especially in Alaska. Morons.
LamaDave | Sep 1, 2008 | Reply
The leftists are at it again. In tactics reminiscent of their fascist heroes, Palin was accused of covering up the “fact” that Trig was born to her daughter. Well dummies, it is much more likely, biologically, that a 43 year old would have a Downs Syndrome child than a 17 year old. But the most insidious “fact” has been put out there; as a socialist professor at Boston College once bloviated, “It doesn’t matter if the facts are wrong, the idea is right.” No Professor, it means that the Demokrat supporters have taken on the tactics of Herr Goebbels.

Problem creators - instead make a speech and then get on a long airplane ride to far away to get any emergent medical help!

No, I believe Sarah Palin was indeed pregnant with her own child (down syndrome child is Sarah’s). The brown jumper was oversized and most women hide and will sometimes be secretive about their pregnancies. Even if her 17 yr. old daughter Bristol is now pregnant, I think Bristol is lucky to have a wonderful mom and dad that she can come to in times of trouble like this. And No I do Not Believe this will hurt McCain or Sarah Palin in getting elected. If anything, I believe this just humanizes Sarah Palin and family issues that “all” Americans have to deal with from time to time. I think it shows how magnificent Sarah is in handling Everything, from Career, being Wife, A Mother and Now a Mother With Family Issues and How She Can Handle Everything At Once. She is A Women Hear Her Roar!

If the Palin version is true, it is indeed a breath-taking cioncidence AND makes you wonder why a woman would expose her child to public redicule during a VERY sensitive personal crisis.
If the story is NOT true, the folks in the McCain campaign are MONSTERS….
The righties can be defensive, the lefties can be apolectic, the major media will be cowed by their own timidity, but the tabloids will ferret out the truth. Sure, there are women with families and full time jobs, but how many have a son in the military, a pregnant seventeen year old and a special needs child on top of a husband and a few other kids to boot. That alone is a full time job and a half. How does an inexperienced woman run the country with all that in her lap?

If Sarah Palin claimed (took over) her daughter’s child as her own in March 2008, did her daughter Bristol rush out and get pregnant again in April 2008 just to spite her mother and dad? It might sound absurd but I have seen troubled teens do this repeat pregnancy thing many times. So if that is true then we would expect Bristol’s bundle of joy to arrive not in December but probably January 2009.
Whatever is true Evangelicans are basically hypocrites.
Kate | Sep 1, 2008 | Reply
If the announcement of Bristol’s pregnancy was to quell the rumors about Sarah not being Trig’s mother - why didn’t Sarah Palin just release Trig’s birth certificate instead of outing her daughter’s mistake to the world?
It’s awful convenient that Bristol has been pregnant just long enough not to be Trig’s mother. If indeed Sarah faked a pregnancy, why couldn’t Bristol - just until after the election when she has a “tragic loss” (of a non-existant baby). Nobody’s going to question whether the baby actually existed after such a tragedy.
Now I know that if I’m wrong, I look terrible. But so much of this doesn’t make sense to me - I have to question it.
Also, if I’m wrong there is still the question of Sarah Palin’s judgement of giving a speech then FLYING CROSS COUNTRY AFTER HER WATER BROKE a month premature, with her 5th pregnancy, (a high risk pregnency due to her age) with a baby she already knew was going to have special needs. All this risk because “you can’t have a fish picker from Texas”? Come-on!

For your information, Pat Summit, Head Women Basketball Coach at UT in Knoxville TN, did the same thing when her water broke, the reason why, she wanted her son to be born in TN…. Maybe Gov. Kate | Sep 2, 2008 | Reply
So there is more than one person with poor judgement?
I’d probably have reservations about voting for her for vice president also…
Further, I agree with Obama - families and especially kids are out of bounds, and I really don’t care what Bristol Palin has done.
I care about what Sarah Palin has done and the decisions she has made. Right now it looks like she has either carried on a charade and misled (lied) to her constituents and may be dragging her child into her snowball, or she has shown poor judgement regarding health and well being for the sake of “native Alaskan” bragging rights.
Either way, I’m not sure I can trust her judgement. And it wouldn’t be so important if John McCain weren’t going to turn 76 before his term ended (if he’s elected). I mean I don’t know his health details, but statistically having battled cancer 4 times, had 5 brutal years of torture, and his age - there is only so long a human body can hang in there.
I guess I’m not as trusting as I used to be and I’m tired of being told not to ask questions. The old idea that people at this high a level in government will be checked and balanced has been thrown out the window as of late. And then again maybe I’m just wary of another ultra conservative Governor from outside Washington with no experience who is going to be “a uniter, not a divider”. That didn’t work out so well last time. There’s an old saying in Tennessee, I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I don’t want the Republican “powers that be” to fool me again.

The media should not be electing a president. That is up to the people of America. If you think people really care about all the bull being thrown around, then the media has no clue what the people think. You ever heard of throwing stones in a glass house? Well I see a lot of cracks in the media’s large high rise glass building. I am amazed at the fact that there is double standard here. And the media makes no bones about who they want in office, just by the way they are covering this campaign. But what do expect from a generation of people who only care about themselves,so disrespectful, and full of hate. In times like this where violence is the norm and when people just walk by and let an old person just lay in the street, after being ran over by a car. What’s wrong with this country is this attitude “What about me?” I really don’t think this web page would be showing Hillary in a bikini with a gun. Or her kids drinking. Well I have two daughters, 11 and 10 yrs old. And if this how this country wants to treat women then we are heading in a bad direction. If women are good enough to bear children they are differently able to run this country. It says a lot when you say we only want you in the kitchen cooking. My views are my own, and I only want to see this country to keep moving forward. But that’s hard when your taking five steps back. And just remember one thing, unless you have the balls to run for office, don’t talk sh*t about something your not willing to do. And I am tried of all these celebs. coming out and using something we gave them(their 15mins of fame) to try and sway votes. Well let me say this, shut up ,act, and vote in private. We the average Americans don’t have that power. And I don’t watch movies for political reasons. I don’t care what their (celebs)views are. So please once again shut up and act. That’s why we have a private voting process. keep it to your selves.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Why have the Republicans rolled out pictures of a pregnant Palin. Surely she must have been out in public during her pregnancy. If she was truly pregnant the Republicans would be proud to roll out pictures. When did she go to Iraq? Was she pregnant then. Could it be that her daughter is pregnant again? The American public need to look into Sarah more carefully before swallowing what the media has been feeding them. What is so wow about Sara. She does not represent the typical working mother who has to take her children to daycare and then figure out to pay $200.00 dollars per week for each child and decided whether to buy food or pay day care. She does not have to take her children to four different places and then try to get on public transportation that will break down thereby causing you to get to work late and risk the threat of being fired. She is not the typical working mother who has to send her sick child to school because she cannot afford to take another day off from work or be fired. She is not the typical working mother who has to go to work and leave her minor children unattended to later take public transportation which might include the New York City subway and spent all day worrying if the child made it to school or will she get home safe. She is definitely not a Hilary Clinton. Hilary has the education, knowledge, wisdom, compassion and experience that Palin lacks. America is too caught up in reality shows. This is not Gene Simmons Family Jewels. This is a national election. Journalist you need to be more responsible in what you put out. Go to work and find true photos of a pregnant Palin.

As for those of you who have so much medical knowledge - my niece is a pediatrician in private practice, and says there is no way this story can be true! For the others that are so quick to throw the Palin family under the bus, how many of you have had a teenage child anywhere in your family and how many of your relatives have total control over what they do? Most kids make mistakes, a sad fact in this life, but true. I’m willing to bet that some of you posters have had more serious mistakes made in your family than a pregnancy. But, no one in your family is a political candidate. How would you feel if everything you ever did, your siblings ever did, your children ever did, your cousins ever did was hung out as dirty laundry?

Oh good grief…I thought we lived in the “home of the FREE and the BRAVE?”
Since when does an adult need PERMISSION from their Dr. to do something? When will we get it through our heads that Dr.’s should be giving us ADVICE, not ORDERS?
Research shows that without cervical exams, going an extended period of time with ruptured membranes will not lead to infection. Its the cervical exams that carry the bacteria up into the uterus. I’m a childbirth instructor, and had a client whose water broke at 32 weeks, and she did not give birth until 35 weeks–with her OB’s BLESSING! He actually sent her home from the hospital after he determined that she wasn’t going into labor (that’s right, “water breaking” does NOT equal “being in labor.” This OB would have induced labor if she were full term and didn’t go into labor on her own within 12 hrs of rupture, but in this case the risk of prematurity issues was greater than the risk of infection). It is important to point out though that often preterm rupture of membranes is *caused* by an infection weakening the membranes, which is why it is important to look for signs of infection when water breaks–such as foul smelling fluid, temperature rising, or mom feeling “flu-like.”
Try to put yourself in Sarah Palin’s position…she traveled quite a ways from home late in pregnancy…perhaps she has a history of birthing after her due date, and weighed the pros & cons and figured the reason for her trip meritted the risk, even though most OB’s would advise against traveling so far so late in pregnancy.
She gets there, and her water breaks. And she thinks “oh SHIT! I can’t have the baby here because I have no idea how long this baby is going to be in the NICU! I’ve got to get home!” So she elects to make the trip to Alaska, knowing that she does have a layover in the middle that will afford her the opportunity to bail out if labor does start.
Why did she choose to birth in a smaller hospital? I’m sure she had already researched it and determined that it had the capability to deal with her baby if she made it to week “x” of pregnancy, but she would need higher level care if she delivered before then.
BTW, in my second pregnancy my water broke when I was out shopping. I wasn’t even sure at first that it was my water as opposed to urinary incontinence–and lest you think I’m a total idiot for that, there is a book written by an OB where she admits that her water was broken for 24 HOURS before she realized it! So anyway, within 2-3 hrs of my water breaking, I did realize what it was. I continued to shop for about 30 minutes, then went home. Went out for dinner. Went to a diner for breakfast the next morning. All without major incident. How? Anyone ever heard of sanitary napkins? Baby diapers work even better for the higher volume of fluid that can come with occassional gushes. I then CHOSE to go to the the hospital after breakfast, and had labor induced. With the same OB I mentioned above who readily allowed one of my clients to wait 3 weeks after rupture before birthing.

Oh…I also would point out that Dr. William Sears, a prominent pediatrician who has written multiple pregnancy/birth/infant care/child rearing books chose with his wife to birth 4 of their 7 biological children AT HOME. And the last of those had Down’s Syndrome. They didn’t know about the Down’s prior to the birth, but Dr. Sears relates that he was GLAD to have birthed the baby at home because in the hospital the baby would have been wisked away for testing that really could wait.

Folks,
I don’t think the question is “is she pregnant”. I think the question is “Is she a breast feeding mom”. Look at pics of her from the RNC. As a mom, your boobs do not get HUGE like that when you are prego. They get HUGE after the baby is born. This current pregnancy story is 2 fold: 1) to quash the rumors and 2) to explain her body changes. Anyone who has ever been pregnant will tell you those are post-partum boobs. I suspect we will see a tragic miscarriage in the next few month. 80% of Downs babys are born to women under 35. She missed the last 5 months of schools. Do the math!

mma- All the women in my family have breasts that look like that both before they are pregnant and while they are pregnant. None got bigger AFTER the baby was born. I have many friends who say they had nice breasts until after they had their children.
Yes, 80% of the babies that are Down Syndrome are born to women under 35. That’s when most women become pregnant. About 1 in 400 babies born to women over 35 have Down Syndrome. You have way less women over 35 getting pregnant. I went through infertility treatment for 5 1/2 years starting in my late 20’s and I was told that for women over the age of 30, trying to get pregnant poses unique considerations as your fertility diminishes. Thus, you simply have less women geting pregnant over the age of 35!

We deserve the truth, and this is relevant since she runs on being a PTA and Hockey mom—she is the worst example of a mother I have ever seen. Why can’t she wait a few more years to take on a job this big and raise her family first? What kind of judgment does she have? She flew to Texas to speak with a high risk pregnancy, then 11 hours back, with her amniotic water leaking…? that is ludicrous! What would she say to Michelle Obama if their places were switched?
She has a lot of nerve slinging all kinds of lies on Obama—what was it that Jesus said…something about taking the beam out of your eye while perceiving delusional splinters in your brother’s? It’s beyond belief.

I agree with the bloggers who think Bristol is the parent of little Trig..not to smear Palin..I stumbled on this conspiracy when I was trying to find out more info on Palin as a mother..(outside of the mainstream media..how do we truly know anything about the baby outside of what Palin’s said…checking youtube youll see doaens of pics of Bristol w/ bottle upon bottle of
liquor..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2E-puZdT_o
(really her and her friends) which may explain the birth defects..notice how skinny bristol is
Of course Palin thought she was safe in taking family pics..she had no way of knowing she would be selected for the VP nominee.. who was really going to challenge her story while she was governor? According to media reports Wasilla has a high percentage of Meth use as well as underage drinking….guess what else kids do in a boring town pop 3,000?
it if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck….? here’s another video

Do you have children and do you work outside of the home? I don’t agree with your comments about her staying at home and raising her children. Most mom’s can’t afford to stay at home anymore. You can take kids from all kinds of socio-economic backgrounds with working mom’s and still get all different kinds of kids.
If Sarah Palin makes it as VP, that does not mean that her kids will be any worse than any other kids. I know stay at home mom’s who will tell you that their kids are less self-disciplined and less likely to follow instructions than kids who have a working mom.
You can always find someone who will try to manipulate others opinions to back up whatever political agenda they want.

Sarah, INSURANCE FRAUD IS ILLEGAL!
Trig’s real mother has everything to do with judgment, character & trust for the V.p. elect. This ALSO ties to legal issues. It is said that Sarah claimed Bristol’s baby for insurance purposes. Bristol was not covered. We all know how much insurance cost…just for a birth. The cost of long term health care of a known down syndrome baby in the womb is astronomical. Thus Sarah’s claim for this birth. Insurance Fraud is illegal. I suggest Sara’s Health Insurance company check into this. Surely DNA, a birth certificate and tesitmony from the birthing Dr. would be sufficient to bring show Insurance Fraud….or not.
Now how do we bring forth this questionable birth to Sarah’s Health Insurance Company?
Trish | Oct 14, 2008 | Reply
Do you know for a fact that Bristol was not covered? As a 17 year old, I question that. Mom would have individual insurance but no family coverage?
You know what bothers me here? No matter how much you try to teach your kids to do the right thing, they will do what they want. What if Obama’s daughters were older and they were hard-partiers and ended up pregnant? Would those of you that are wanting to diss Bristol so badly feel differently?
Bristol has no bearing whatsoever on Sarah Palin’s abilities to be VP.

There is an easy way to sort out this mess:
- DNA test of the baby, Bristol, Palin and Todd.
We don’t want an incestuous family as the face of America!

While it does seem that a lot of evidence points to Bristol being Trig’s mother, how is it that she pregnant now, so soon after apparently having Trig? Why would she fall pregnant again literally 1 month after Trig was born?
