Bristol Palin Washington University Sex Week Appearance Cancelled

Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol won’t be vising the Washington University in St. Louis as the event has been canceled due to protests from students.
Palin was scheduled to speak to the Washington University students on the subject of abstinence but the school’s Student Health Advisory Committee that invited her at the cost of $20,000 will go without her.
It was the large sum of money she was offered to speak for that set the students in an uproar and the advisory committee that invited her felt that her name and notoriety would bring in the curious and add to the panel they convened according to committee president a Mr. Scott Elman who spoke to the Daily News.
The conflict even reached the faces of popular social networking site Facebook where supporters for the cancellation formed a group of over 1,000 strong. Again the students who protested Palin did so because of the fees to be paid to her and that other more deserving campus projects and groups deserved the money.
Critics state that the students may have defeated their own purposes as a visit by celebrities raise fees toward the college allowing for more revenue to pour in even though the investment in Palin was $20k.
The long term revenue from her visit and lecture could have attracted more notables and generated even more so that campus groups could have had a regular and considerable revenue for years to come.
