Apparently the British are angry that President Obama gave Prime Minister Gordon Brown a 25 DVD set of the “great American classics”.English paper The Daily Telegraph wrote:

British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama’s inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to “even fake an interest in foreign policy”.

The [US State Department] official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: “There’s nothing special about Britain. You’re just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn’t expect special treatment.” The apparent lack of attention to detail by the Obama administration is indicative of what many believe to be Mr Obama’s determination to do too much too quickly.

That’s all we have for now on British Embassy Washington DC.

I am as a Brit living here I am very upset with the Right Winged Conservative Rick Scott on a CNN advert using paid Brit to tell lies about our healthcare systm, e.g she was denied a Pap smear!! and we have the highest rate of breast cancer Deaths. As a former Nurse this is not true having dealt with this with in my family. I had to go home this past year because my husband could not get the simple treatment he needed fot his exzema that turned into a bad infection. I was told nothing could be done. The Specialist in the U.K. was shocked seeing him this way and was in Hospital five days and in that time he was 95% better and in less distress. I wass told here “oh we do not have the same medications here NO THATS BECAUSE THE DRUG COMPANIES ARE A TIGHT GROUP AND GREEDY.So I found a company that ships me over the needed medication from the U.K. at a reasonable cost. So much for Healthcare in the U.S.

I had an old British flag for many years. It was recently lost and I was wondering if you could possibly send me an British flag. I want to fly the flag outside my home but I’m not sure its resposible for me to spend any of my limited funds on one. It would mean a lot to me. Thankyou for your time either way.
