I saw the interview as it played live. Campbell was asking appropriate questions and Tucker Bounds began getting slightly hysterical, like a small child who's been caught in the cookie jar and won't fess up. Campbell's justified disbelief came at Tucker's unprofessional attempts to wriggle free of the questions, and divert away--it didn't work, and when Campbell kept pressing he became more shrill.

Don't blame Campbell for doing her job, Tucker basically peed himself on national TV. Perhaps if he had stronger source material to work from (like a truly qualified candidate) this would not have occurred.

As a journalist who's been given the runaround on more than one occasion, Campbell Brown was simply doing her job. Tucker Bounds was out of bounds because he either a. didn't know the answer to the question or b. couldn't answer the question because to do so would undercut a spurious argument. She did what the folks at Fox News do every night: keep asking until you get an answer. It's what journalists are trained to do.

John McCain is right on by cancelling his interview with Larry King. This only proves his ability to lead by not giving CNN the time of day. Watching Campbell Brown attack the McCain spokesperson was absolutely shocking to me! If CNN wants to portray themselves as a network that is fair to both sides, they would fire her for her lack of professionalism. Her anger was astounding. Her mannerisms reminded me of an immature teenager.

If Tucker Bounds would have just answered the question, it wouldn't have been an issue. The problem was that he didn't seem to know the answer (or the answer was "there isn't an example") and thought he could get away with the Talking Points without being questioned. I thought Campbell Brown was courageous, genuine, and honest. As the interview was happening, I, too, wanted to hear the answer to her question. Tucker was asserting that Ms. Palin had military experience because as a governor she is over the Guard.

I don't think anyone wants a situation in the media where spokesmen can be interviewed and say anything that they want without being seriously questioned.

Go Campbell Brown!

I think it only fair that you show the entire interview, not just this excerpt about the National Guard. I happened to watch the whole thing last night. The reason McCain cancelled his interview with Larry King was not because of this issue of Palin's experience. The reason so many are upset, myself included is that previous to this part of the interview, Campbell Brown said, something like, "What kind of mother knowingly subjects her 17 year old daughter to public media scrutinty,by taking on the role of a VP nominee?" I believe that the personal attack on Sarah Palin as to her judgement as a mother, is what the McCain camp finds inexcusable. NOT THE ATTACKS ON HER EXPERIENCE. I just watched you all discussing this after the RNC and you're only showing this exchange, which is misleading America. If that is all I saw, I wouldn't have thought Ms. Brown had done anything wrong. However, based on the entire interview, including the personal attacks on Gov. Palin, I say "Shame on you" You owe Sarah Palin and her family an apology. Inexcusable for a journalist with your experience!

When the McCain camp complained about the profressioanlism of this interview, I watched Wolf Blitzer's and Campbell Brown's reponse to it. They both missed the point (again) - as would be expected by such unneutral new reporters - the point was not the issue of the questions asked, but the terrible and "Snotty" attitude Campbell had. It was like watching a overtly angry wife obsessively verbally attack a humble husband. Her attitude was unprofessional, not the questions. This is exactly what President Bush meant in his speech when he referred to "the Angry Left" - well your living it "Baby"!!!!
