Carlina White 1987 Kidnapping: Ann Pettway Arrested

In a kidnapping case that stunned the nation, a woman named Ann Pettway who is the suspected kidnapper of a baby that 23 years later as an adult figured out her own kidnapping story and found her real parents, turned herself in to authorities according to CBS News.
Keith Bryant a Bridgeport Police spokesman told CBS News the the woman turned herself into the FBI in Stratford, Connecticut
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara stated that the woman is expected to appear in the Manhattan federal court on Monday January 24, 2011 to face the charges against her.
Previously Pettway was on probation in North Carolina due to a conviction for attempted embezzlement violated that probation calling for a warrant for her arrest.
The kidnapped child, now a woman of 23 years of age is one Carlina White who the story says was long suspicious of Pettway as not being her real mother and living under the name of Nejdra Nance she grew up in Connecticut
The authorities are deciding whether the federal authorities should take up the case because of the issue of the statute of limitations as they might have expired in the state of New York. There is no statue of limitations regarding federal missing child cases.
