Chase Website Problems – Online Chase Outage

Chase Website Problems – Online Chase Outage – For more than 22 hours now Chase’s official website has been down and completely out of service.
Millions of users/clients have been unable to access their accounts and go on with their daily activities such pay their bills online and make transactions.
The company is aware of the problem but has thus far been unable to fix the issue.
Meanwhile Chase is asking its clients to use good old ATM’s for their bill payments and other banking services as they try to resolve their online banking problems.
It is not uncommon for big websites to have issues but it is odd for such an important site to suffer an outage lasting for so long without a real explanation.
As to when the site will be up and running again, no one knows at the moment.

Chase’s communication with its customers during this outage has been completely unacceptable and non existant. They have the technology to send me an e-mail almost every day trying to get me to use more of the bank’s services but haven’t managed to send me one e-mail or text with the nature of this problem, what they are doing to solve it and when it is expected to be back on line. We have now been off line for over 27 hours with no explanation whatsover and apparently they have kept their customer service staff in the dark as well as they were well meaning but uttlerly useless as they had no information whatsoever. Maybe it’s time for me to take my business elsewhere.
Yea!! CHASE is Back Online!!!!!!!! as of 1:27am est.
AND…. they’re offline again. I’ve been trying for a half hour to get on and they have you on a continuous loop. You can’t login so you try to email them to find out what’s going on. But you CAN’T email them without logging on. Nice. Then you try to call – get caught up in their continuous automated menu – finally get close – then the automated system hangs up on you. I’m ready to move my $$ to another bank altogether.
You should. They’re priority is commercial accounts, not you and me. Oh, and they’re dirty. Look into credit unions.
DOES THE NAME CAYMAN ISLANDS MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU AND YOUR MONEY. YES, THE USA NEEDS LESSONS FROM SPECIAL BANK ACCOUNT AND THE CAYMAN NEED USA CURRENCY AND SWISS CURRENCY.
I agree with Dan. This is totally unacceptable. They sure send me a text telling me they’re charging me an overdraft charge but nothing about this outage. I have bills to pay and not only that, this is how I keep track of what transactions have cleared. I am at a standstill now. GET IT TOGETHER CHASE!!!!
They doing it on purpose, so you lose track of balances, go overdrawn, then they can charge lots of fees make more money. Not rocket science, but sneaky.
i cant access my account. this is so frustrating. i have bills to pay, and i want to see if money i sent has been cleared. my life is on hold right no. no indian customer support. this is america. i have to talk to these hindu answering service people like a 4 year old; its like im teaching them english. its an insult! and to think of the interest and fees we r paying…
its all obama’s fault for making it harder for banks to be in business
Obama is trying to save us from Big Banks with banking reform but Republicans won’t allow anything that would help regular people or hurt big banks. They would rather see America destroyed than let Obama succeed at anything. Ignoramuses like you play right into their hands and they are laughing all the way to the bank.
You’re kidding right? It’s Obama’s fault that companies like Chase have been outsourcing their customer support operations to India for well over 10 years? It’s Obama’s fault that banks like Chase have been sticking it to customers like you for much longer than that?
This is a Chase issue, plain and simple. Any reasonable person would know that Jay, so what does that say about you?
Your use of English is about the level of a four-year-old, so don’t be insulted. Yeah, it’s Obama’s fault that the crooks at Chase are also incompetent.
Very ignorant to talk about outsourcing when you are not fully educated on how it helps Americans in the long run. Bottom line is when companies have customer service sites both domestic and international, downsizing impacts those international people first as their sites are the first to close. Since a majority of companies have downsized in the past few years, can you imagine how this would have further impacted the United States if all of these thousands of jobs would have been located here? More unemployment, more loss of benefits, more homes lost, etc. Additionally, India is the first place most people assume companies outsource to when in fact they are not high on the outsource list due to their cost. Have you heard of immigration to the United States? Just because someone speaks with what you claim to be an “indian” accent does not mean they are located in India.
If their website was being maintained in India, they would not be having all these problems and that’s the truth Jay.. And you know it.
The truth is, all their business is here, this is one of the few companies that still does not outsource as much as others are doing..
just having one call center in India does not make a company outsourcer if everything else is here..The poor Hindus in India are not able to answer your questions because no body knew what was going on, not even employees.
I think you don’t really know how much Chase has been outsourcing. Tons of Americans have been losing their jobs because Chase has been outsourcing left and right this year, and the sad part is, that is not the only company doing it. Is not just one call center, is customer service on credit cards, customer service on some loans departments, customer service for IT, parts of department call complains and goes on and on…….It may be true that on the long run as people said it will be better but we will never know. I do not agree with taking jobs out of America. They way I see it is not only the jobs is my information as well. Just my two cents
I’ve been trying to log on to my account since 6:00 A.M. this morning…….soooo frustrated at this point……! This really sucks!!!!!!!
Dan is right on. Why not send an email explaining the outage and then an email once service has resumed. I have checked back countless times only to be let down. The constant checking is worse than the outage itself.
Ditto the above. Very unusual and disturbing is the lack of info from JPMC on this!
I’m Chase customer and i’m with you guys, this is unacceptable. I can tell you that their infrastructure is total crap. I work in IT and i saw one of JPMorgan Chase datacenter facilities in NYC (we were next door neighbors) – it looked pretty bad and disorganized. It actually made me wonder if i should move my account to another bank after seeing this mess, but i thought it would not be an issue and just one off – up until today.
Also, there reason they wont disclose the issue is that it will be on the first page of major news papers tomorrow – if they would do so. So their silence is one way to minimize the noise and attention. They would rather keep us in the dark.
moving on..
MOTHER FU[K|N CHASE. The 2nd Largest U.S. bank has a website outage for over 24 hours with no explanation. Drag their azze$ into a Congressional oversight hearing!!
Think I’ll send their IT department my resume tomorrow. There are bound to be a few vacant positions after this.
Indeed, sad state of affairs. They e-blast us constantly and tout their new iPhone feature (although USAA invented this feature and got less press on it) which is limited at best. And with all their focus on online bill pay, iPhone, etc. they can’t tell us what’s happening with their website or provide some alternate failover environment? These guys do everything but print money… can they not afford a redundancy plan?
Its crazy they sent me an email saying that my account is overdranw when i have more the 2300 dollars,i called them and the said.that .the network its down
I think Chase is totally whacked out!! I am going to be chasing them away from my money. Anyone know how I can initiate a online transfer to Patelco credit union. The call center guys were very nice. I asked them if they speak Hindu and I was told in alabaman accent – Hindu is an religion and Hindi is a language. Felt like a fool and almost as ignorant as the IT guys mananging Chase website.
When we do any mistake we have to pay a fee why not they pay us now it’s there Fault .asss h.
Last week someone charged $900 to my Chase debit card to Expedia for a hotel stay in Turkey! I had my card in my possession. I am concerned that Chase customer information is being compromised in some way. The only reason I have this suspicion is because Chase has not communicated what has been going on for the last 24 hours. Has anyone else out there had any issues with this in the past week or so?
Oh boy…similar thing happened to me. Got a call from Chase fraud department about my compromised credit card on Mon. I have not been able to get on my chase account since then.
Makes me think someone’s hacked the Chase site stealing user data and money. That might explain such an unusually long downtime and their silence.
IT systems of banks such as Chase cannot just go down “because of technical problems.” They are built with full triple or quadruple redundancy with backup nodes located at physically protected data centres in different locations. Bringing up even a “cold” node takes minutes, not 28 hours.
I’m afraid many of us would be up to nasty surprises when the site’s up: note and report any questionable transactions immediately. And the first thing I’d do is wire what’s on the accounts elsewhere.
A few minutes ago I was able to change my login password but was not able to make a payment. My browser said it was not able to establish a secure connection.
The site is back up but barely. Every time I click on something it pretty much locks up my browser while it works. I am concerned there may have been a hacker and now all our data is exposed. I’m with you guys that we need an explanation. I have quite a few accounts with Chase so I’m getting concerned.
Chase is down again this morning. I was on at 0700 and now at 1030 I can’t get on.
It’s still not working right. I can log in, but then it doesn’t go anywhere. Their fix sucks!!
Wednesday 11:00AM EST. The site may be back online apparently, but it does not allow me to log in… it does not accept my password (even though I am sure 100% it is the right one) and the password reset feature does not work either… so it is as good as down… so much for the “right reltaionship”.
And it’s STILL NOT WORKING. YIKES!
I’m glad I switched from Chase to a credit union a couple years ago! My business banks with Chase and I can’t get in to do our OBP. Chase is saying they’ll pay people’s late fees, which is fine for creditors like utility companies, but what about those that need to pay bills such as mortgages? Those companies report directly to the credit agencies? Will Chase fix people’s credit, too?
