Connecticut Gay Marriage:Same Sex Marriage Allowed

Connecticut Gay Marriage:Same Sex Marriage Allowed – Gay marriage in Connecticut is now legal.Connecticut’s Supreme Court ruled out earlier today,that same-sex marriage should be legalized.This is the third state in the nation,after Massachusetts and California,to make gay marriage legal.Janet Peck,who was a plaintiff in this case with partner Carole Conklin,had this to say,after:

“I can’t believe it. We’re thrilled, we’re absolutely overjoyed. We’re finally going to be able, after 33 years, to get married.”

The Family Institute of Connecticut opposed the ruling and made it clear,through the following statement:

“Even the legislature, as liberal as ours, decided that marriage is between a man and a woman.”"This is about our right to govern ourselves. It is bigger than gay marriage.”

According to reports,the ruling will go into effect on October 28.
