Daschle:Tom Daschle Withdraws After Scandal – Tom Daschle who was supposed to become president Obama’s health and human services secretary has withdrew his nomination just moments ago due to his tax issues.Daschle almost cried when he told Andrea Mitchell:
“I read the New York Times this morning and I realized that I can’t pass health care if I am too much of a distraction … I called the president this morning.”
President Obama added:
“Now we must move forward.” I accept “with sadness and regret” Daschle’s request to be removed from consideration.
