On Wednesday, Democratic Representative David Wu of Oregon was asked to resign by Oregon’s GOP chairman Republican Allen Alley and The Register Guard, Oregon’s second largest newspaper.

Alley states, “He has a really important job, and the citizens of Oregon and the citizens of the congressional district deserve to have a Congressman who’s completely focused on serving them and being a great congressman.”

There have been allegations against Wu that he is battling mental illness. He allegedly sent a series of inappropriate e-mails to staffers. It appears that Wu is losing it, as he was photographed wearing a tiger costume. This controversial photo was included in the e-mails that Wu sent.

On Good Morning America, Wu admitted that his emails were both inappropriate and unprofessional.

He states, “Last October was not a good month; it was very stressful. I did some things. I said some things which I sincerely regret now. And as a result of those things, I saw fit to consult professional help. I got the help I needed then. I’m continuing to consult medical help as I need it.”

Erik Dorsey, Wu’s spokesperson, revealed that he would not resign. Wu will even seek reelection in 2021 after these bizarre incidents.
