Former Vice President Dick Cheney and Bush Cabinet Secretary Donald Rumsfeld were left out in the cold at a recent Conservative Political Action Conference when they were both booed and protested against while attending the popular Republican Conservative annual event.

It’s reported that the bulk of the hecklers were young people, mostly Senator Ron Paul supporters who walked out in protest when Rumsfeld appeared to receive an award called the Defenders of the Constitution.

Cheney was there to surprise Rumsfeld with support for the award and was equally met with boos from the crowd. Insults were hurled at both Republican icons. It wasn’t all boos and hisses for both men as some supporters called out for them for higher office.

Cheney did however get some laughs as he poked fun at the Obama Administration. The event drew about 10,000 plus attendees. Even former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich threw his hat in the ring as a possible contender for the White House in 2012. Gingrich delivered his disdain for President Obama declaring him “no Ronald Reagan”, in regard to a Time Magazine article entitled “Why Obama Loves Reagan”.
