Elena Kagan Supreme Court:SCOTUS Confirmation Hearings – Elena Kagan will definitely be attracting some attention this week as she strives to become the 112th Supreme Court Justice. Serving in the United States political and judicial processes is a renowned position for anyone. Elena Kagan has already received support from the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Having the support of the man who runs the Country is certainly going to make her a promising candidate for the position. As we well know, Justice John Paul Stevens is retiring from the position which leaves an empty seat to be filled.

John Paul Stevens was a very liberal voice in the Supreme Court and it’s expected that Elena Kagan will fill the same role during her time served. During the hearings where she is evaluated by other liberals, you can be sure that they will be looking for reassurance that she is indeed as liberal as they come. Conservatives will be actively trying to judge her character, persuade her and more importantly ensure that she is on board to their views.
So far Elena Kagan hasn’t been receiving overwhelming support from the public. Only 42 percent of Americans had no opinion about her serving in the Supreme Court. However, these results are not unusual and it’s typical for the average American to have no understanding of current events happening in the world. Especially with the Supreme Court which is a fairly quiet topic on the news. Her confirmation hearing will be coming shortly and we should learn in the next few weeks whether the situation is going to continue down this path for the better or make a turn for the worst.
