Elizabeth Hasselbeck Michelle Obama:Elizabeth Hasselbeck The View - Republican Elisabeth Hasselbeck decided to slam Michelle Obama at an event for Cindy McCain in Minneapolis recently.Hasselbeck was apparently pissed for not being able to ask Michelle few questions she had in mind whereas she claimed she had total access to Cindy.The ladies on The View were very respectful to both women and did not question Cindy on the fact that her husband John McCain was still married to his first wife Carol when he and Cindy applied for their marriage license nor on the fact she was stealing narcotics from her charity.The same rule applied to Michelle and she was not interrogated about her former church for example.

Elizabeth gets on my last nerve. There’s a difference between standing up for your beliefs, and being argumentative just for the sake of it. She’s represents the latter. When they have their discussions she doesn’t even let a person complete their thought, she starts to disagree before they are even done. I know Barbara wants to put a muzzle on her. It’s funny when, at times, you can hear the audience laugh at her when she disagrees with the topic at hand.

I for one would be thrilled about her departure from the view. I respected Elizabeth for taking a stand by defending her opinions, however, that respect has since waned since her back handed stunt at the RNC. I have always enjoyed watching The View, but lately with all of the political fighting among the ladies, it has become nearly impossible to tolerate. I admit, I am a Democrat and I disagree with Elizabeth most of the time, but the reason I disagree with her is not so much because she is just wrong - she is entitled to her opinions just like the others - but I have an issue with her lack of tact in trying to make a point. I’m always waiting for the point, but it ends up sounding like more trash talk and no different than hearing the McCain ads on TV. A couple of weeks ago there was a lady sitting in for Elizabeth, a Republican, and I enjoyed watching that show. This lady held herself together and spoke her mind and I respected that. The situation that Elizabeth finds herself in every day on the show in defending herself against four liberals is not an easy place to be, especially right now, but I feel that she needs to get a grip because no one is listening due to her overbearing and childlike response to the questions that are thrown around that table on a daily basis. I may not agree with her points of view, but at the same time, I find myself embarassed for her. And if you really watch and listen, you will see that Joy (as much as I love her) takes more McCain/Palin jabs at any given opportunity than anyone else at the table. I’m not blaming Joy for Elizabeth’s behavior, but instigating a fight every day is not necessarily professional either. I don’t disrespect Barbara Walters for not firing Elizabeth either. I’ve heard that Barbara can be quite a shrew and she is a liberal, so I imagine Elizabath has taken her fair share of bitch outs for her over zealous opinion, not to mention getting a daily ass kicking on national television. I think to say that she should be canned is a little extreme given that her view is the ONLY Republican view on the show - whether you like it or not.

While I think it is important for both sides of an issue to be represented, I find it difficult to listen to Elizabeth. I don’t watch the view that often, but when I have watched, I hear her doing the same thing that has gotten the McCain campaign into such trouble, throwing out talking points with no information to support them. It’s as if she has a logic gene missing. It isn’t enough to say that you’re going to work for the American people. How are you going to help us? It isn’t enough to say you know how to fix a problem. Ok,let the rest of us know what you’re thinking. The last time I watched the show, Elizabeth was spouting talking points and refusing to let others give information to counter her arguments. When they tried to give examples proving her information was flawed she just kept talking over them. Has anyone else noticed this happening with the entire republican campaign. It’s as if they don’t want any ideas to filter through to the public that might get them to actually think instead of just voting on the one republican issue-terror. The only terror I feel right now is living through 8 more years of Bush. I was insulted when Palin was chosen as VP candidate, I know Elizabeth loves her. There are many talented and accomplished Republican women who would have helped their ticket. But of course those women are older and wouldn’t appeal to the low information voters who are impressed because Gov. Palin is “hot.” I understand that Elizabeth is going out on the campaign trail. Is she appearing with Palin? If she is I can suggest a name for that campaign tour. How about “Dumb and Dumber”

I don’t think most Democratic or Republican women who don’t support Sarah Palin are jealous of her or Elizabeth. I think we see a danger in allowing a certain element within the Republican Party to relegate women to the position of being “hot”, non-intellectuals. The only women who might be jealous of Sarah or Elizabeth would be the one’s who have accepted this role (being attractive to their menfolk)as their only contribution. They might be jealous if they feel that they can’t compete in the attractiveness sweepstakes, because both Sarah and Elizabeth are very attractive women. But to any thinking person, Sarah’s level of attractiveness is not enough to qualify her for the vice presidency. Elizabeth is right where she should be. While I find her annoying in her inability to analyze or think for herself, I do not begrudge her the right to capitilize on her physical attributes.

I used to love The View, but not anymore. I find myself getting so annoyed with everything that comes out of Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s mouth, especially the way she conducts and presents herself with her facial expressions and snotty way of raising her voice. She comes across as ignorant and immature. She appears to repeat every McCain commercial and doesn’t appear to have any original thoughts of her own. She is what is ugly about discussing politics, fortunately I do not have any friends like her. What really got me happened a few weeks ago, it was when she spoke about Michelle Obama appearing on their show. Now, every so often as I change the channels I will pause on the view to see who is on, what they are talking about, and then Elizabeth opens her mouth and I have to go. She reminds me of those girls in high school who were mean and gossipy. Why exactly is she on this show?
I have many women friends with varying political opinions. We discuss issues and candidates without anyone yelling and interrupting the other. I would imagine the View has lost more viewers than they have gained in the past year.

I used to love the view, I am tired of Elizabeth and her rudeness. I am a Republican and she totally embarrasses me. She needs to be open minded and listen before making up her mind, you can tell the the moment someone begins to present their view she begins to interrupt them before they even get a chance to voice their view. She needs to be taught manners and to respect others no matter what their beliefs are. Do not judge others unless you are willing to be judged. His ideas and suggestions for a better India are doable; I guess, but given the state of affairs in the home land, achieving greatness in the next 13 years looks like a distant dream. The poor are getting poorer, while the rich are getting richer day by day. Basic amenities are a rarity. Farmers are dying everyday. Gap between literates and (illiterates) are increasing. I have never been more proud to be an American than I am today. I have been disheartened in the past by seemingly insurmountable obstacles of bigotry, racism, sexism, male white power, anti-gay, etc. President Obama exudes grace, dignity, intelligence, compassion, inclusion,and inspires millions around the world to join him and his family and model his attitudes and beliefs. Regretably, there will always be a FOX mentality, but their numbers are shrinking-fast!
