Glenn Beck Rally Attendance

Glenn Beck Rally Attendance – The estimates of crowd size for Glenn Beck’s “restoring honor” rally vary greatly depending on who you ask. The event organizers had obtained a permit for 300,000 people to gather at the Lincoln memorial, but have estimated that there were as many as 500,000 in the crowd. However, a number of other sources have estimated that the crowd size is actually much lower. AirPhotosLive.com took pictures of the crowd, and has said that there were between 78,000 and 96,000 in attendance at the event.
Those who attended filled six full blocks, according to CNN. ABC has estimated the total to be over 100,000, but has not released an exact number. Why are the estimates so different from one another? The event organizers likely wanted the event to sound much bigger than it actually was, so their estimate of 500,000 people is likely far too high.
Regardless of how many people showed up, the turnout was huge. It goes to show just how much power Glenn Beck has over his listeners/viewers, and also how much of a celebrity the keynote speaker Sarah Palin has become who thinks it is OK to say the word Ni*ger over and over again.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the wake of the event. Beck who is a Mormon has already come under fire for likening his cause to that of the civil rights movement. Reverend Al Sharpton said that Beck was wrong for making the comparison, and using the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech to promote his controversial event.

I was there, trust me, there were more than 100,000 people there. Just the open lawn to the right of the reflecting pool (looking down from the Washington Munument), itself holds 250,000-300,000 people, according to the park police.
It amazes me that anyone with a brain cell would say there were less than 300,000 people there – it just kills the left that “We The People” have decided to stop being bullied around by big government, which is exactly why our ancestors risked everything to come to America and fight for their freedom and against an oppressive government. We are also tired of “God” being a bad word. Say what you want but all those in attendance came for one reason and it wasn’t for Glenn Beck!!! We came to make a statement that we believe in God and in our Constitution and we stand together ready to fight to protect our rights!!! The days of us sitting by and doing nothing are over so get ready here we come!
people like you Trish make me ashamed…your actions and those that follow glen beck mirror those same people that persecuted jesus christ!! all this hate and rallying in GODS name…SHAMEFUL!!take back the country from what? a black man..not saying that obama is doing the best job ever but he has a lot of the same ideals as clinton and i didn’t see any revolting..or holding “honor” rallies when he was president.. so what AMERICA are we going back to by the way.. one where slavery and segregation ruled???????? you horrible persecutors..i can just see it now..jesus comes back to earth and wants to help EVERYONE..not just you..i bet you people would call him a socialist commie and hang him right back up on the cross..SHAME!!!
Dawn, what a dip you are, if you believe that oblahblah is doing a good job, you better get off of the DOPE!
RZ
Grow up. Why is it when people like you can’t develop an intelligent argument for your case, you resort to name calling and accusations of racism.
Taking back our government is not just from one man and his leftist agenda. It is from the entire federal bureaucracy that has failed the American people on a massive scale. We are tired of the false election promises, political double talk for the press, outright lies, back room deals, and being sold up the river to special interests.
This is America. I have lost my faith in the federal government many years ago. But I still have faith in the American people as a collective to take it back. This event is a celebration of those first steps, which stand to benefit all Americans.
You call yourself an American? You have faith in the American people to take back the government? Guess what, we did! The American people voted Obama into office, after watching a republican administration lead by George W. destroy the country over aperiod of eight years. Remember, when Clinton left office we were in great shape, with a surplus budget. Thank god the people like you that follow an alcoholic college drop out are still the minority, and always will be. That’s the faith I have in the American people! By the way, thats not name calling, those are the facts!
Mr Spindler, I applaud your response..!!!!
You seriously need to be informed. I suggest reading World Net Daily. They provide links to all sorts of FACTUAL information about the big ZERO and his Socialist/Communist cronies!
I did my research BEFORE the election and could not believe people were stupid enough to fall for his crap. I actually read newspapers from ALL OVER THE WORLD and looked at his actions and his associations. That was all it took to let me know that BO IS BAD NEWS!
As for you believing the racist crap being thrown around, you can believe what you want, but this is not about him being black, it’s about him USURPING OUR CONSTITUTION AND DELIBERATELY DEFYING HIS CONSTITUENTS!
HE IS A FRAUD-PLAIN AND SIMPLE AND THE SOONER YOU REALIZE THAT, THE BETTER OFF YOU’LL BE!
OH and just for the record, God also went after King Herod for his mistreatment of the Jews, as well as others in the Roman Empire for their bad behavior. There are times when you have to defend yourself in the name of our Lord.
GOD IS COMING-SOONER THAN YOU THINK!
Just where did you hear anything about slavery and segregation? Believing in God and in our Constitution doesn’t come close to that. Plus the Glenn Beck rally was more diverse then race baiting sharptons .
Dawn, you’re pretty much — well, WRONG. And not a very good listener. Beck is courageous, willing to use the word “God” right next to the word “country.” May God bless him and the U.S.A — because without Him, we are truly lost.
Stop playing the race card Dawn, it’s old and BTW, we don’t agree with most of the presidents in recent history regardless of party, but this administration is beyond incompetent.
Dawn, are you serious?
This presedent is a socialist, everyone around him is a socialist. These people could not run a popsickle stand. We are taking our country back from government. And trust us, we wish slavery had NEVER happend.
This is very emotional prose but unfortunatly your reality of what you are upset about does not line up with the words you are writing down. Is this correct in your eyes?
Glen Beck = Persecuters of Jesus Christ
Take back country = Racist
People who want to take back country = desire for slavery and segregation
Glenn Beck thinks Jesus is a socialist.
This was very difficult to even try to sumarize, but is this close to how you feel? If this is truely how you think, please stick to fewer assertions and try to put some facts behind them so you can actually have some credibility or persuation in your belief. This only makes me roll my eyes.
Dawn, you are the only person spreading hate here, and you seem a little hysterical. Maybe if you would take a couple of deep breaths and actually LISTEN to what Glenn Beck says (not just soundbites) you might begin to understand. He doesn’t hate anyone, and neither do we. We want to take our country back from the BIG FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Not just from one man who has been in office less than 2 years. Is that clear enough?
People like Dawn make me ashamed – when I’m not laughing at their comments. You have to be someone who has earned respect in order for your “shame” to mean anything. Otherwise, it comes across as some busybody with an over-inflated sense of self-importance.
Dawn,
You really need to check your facts on everything you speak of. I was there and walking back to the hotel we were eliciting not-so-nice comments from Georgetown students who assumed us all to be close minded, hate-filled wackos. The rally was like a giant picnic for God’s sake – and you and your ilk must find a way to turn it around. Funny that what crossed my mind as I was being laughed at was “Forgive them, Lord, for they know not what they do.”
Dawn,
Lets get our head together. First, this has nothing to do with race…
Second, Didn’t Rev.Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. have a dream..? Did he reference GOD..? Not sure, I wasn’t there… Nor have me or my family ever owned a slave.
Third, didn’t the Jews crucify Jesus..? The gospels put most of the blame for the crucifixion on the Jewish leaders. But many scholars think that the Romans were the real culprits, not Glenn Beck…
Oh, Bill Clinton was impeached for mis-conduct unbecoming the President of the United States. In the Marine Corp. You go to jail for cheating.
Also, when you get married, don’t you take an oath before GOD to honor and cherish, through good and bad…till you die..? That’s what I thought… If you are truly mad, you should stand up against diviorce lawyers…
I believe there is only one way to get diviorced in the Bible, it’s when you spouse is not faithful or they die…
America is not about hate and discrimination, it’s about empowerment, pursueing your passion with no boundries, having limited goverment interference, and the best part is to set you free to grow or flounder as a person. I all about helping people to help themselves. You don’t feed the people corn, you teach them how to grow it for them selves… Make sense?
Try to get a college loan, “minority waiver,” I never herd of that until I had to pay $400 more then a minority for applications to college. Is that fair? I mean really..?
Back to Beck, for one thing, it’s purely entertainment, not the gospel… Being cool hanging on a street corner doesn’t make you cool… Inventing a cure for aids, discovering the gene that promotes cancer, using reading, writing and arithmatic to change the world… that’s cool, not MTV…
Try it some time… Take a class, you might unlock something that is life changing.. I did…
When was the last time you read the Declaration of Independence? How about the Constitution? I would like to hear your interpretation of that document…
If you wanna make a difference, join the Service, or run for office… Goof Luck…
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
I`ve got an idea. Lets go back to a country that doesn`t have a muslim president. On NBC nightly news tonight, Brian Williams asked Obama if it bothered him to know that 1/5 th of the people in this country thought he was Muslim. He said he had confidence in the American people to overlook that. Would someone tell him that the i/5 that think that are American people.
While I am an atheist, I have to agree wholeheartedly. Glenn Beck is a false idol and he is using your own faith to rob you. Are you all so hopeless or racist that you need more than Christ? Shamefull, indeed.
“Glenn Beck is a false idol and he is using your own faith to rob you”
here here
If Obama told everyone that he took his orders directly from the christian God (just like George W. Bush did) he would have much more support.
What an idiot!
You did’nt see any revolting while Clinton was in Office?? What did you think the impeachment hearings were for??? Remember when Clinton was going to sell one of our naval ports the the Chinese. You dont remember those protest? Or do you have selective memory? Remember when Clinton was renting out rooms at the White House to foriegn lobbist??
I dont understand why ANYONE that call themselves an American have any torlerance for Shiria Law. In Iran they are in the process of stoneing a woman who commited adultry. The last time I saw adultry was committed by two people. She couldn’t have committed adultry alone. So why is the man not being stoned as well??? Do we really want these people to be our friends and neighbors?
It amazes me that you think zombies have brain cells.
They do, in their tummies. It’s what they feast on.
You freaking RACIST
You will never take the White House racists!
Trish you are nuts! How the hell is our government oppressive? Because Glenn told you it is? You do not live in Iran! Our government helps millions of people and and our tax liability is very low compared to other countries. Stop being an idiot lemming!
Trish
It was George Bush (R) who created the big goverment of today. It was he who allowed this country to become over run with illegal aliens and it was he do de-regulated the banks and Wall St. So what we have today is a product of the people you voted for and supported.
Face facts and face the truth!!!
Voice from Montana
Wow, you could not be more uninformed if you tried
Lie!
Glenn Beck is a radio talk show host. He was a suspect in a rape case in Connecticut. He is also linked to another rape in Texas. So tell me what would motivate anyone to listen to a person like this?
Voice from Montana
Montana – isn’t it lucky that one can post whatever they choose on these blogs without requiring one grain of truth or proof before they do? There is certainly nothing like making a preposterous claim to change the focus of the subject. Rather like the claims of Obama not being a citizen. I’m sure you don’t believe that one at all.
Don’t believe everything you read!
a rape suspect? give me a break. I can tell you right now without even researching it that it’s wrong. glenn is doing the work of god for this great country. yeah, I said that and I stand by it. it’s going ot piss off you lefties something fierce but it is what it is. the division bell has rung and we are taking sides.
Laughable. Google images of the ’63 March on Washington. It took place at the Lincoln as well. There were 250,000 people at that event & there is a very noticeable difference in crowd size.
I was there and I COULD NOT MOVE FOR HOURS! IT WAS A CRUSH!
Give us a high res photo and we’ll hand count the hanging chads LOL
Did you know that Glenn Beck is a mormon?
I knew he was a moron…didn’t know he was also a mormon.
why are you so racist.against a white man with moralls and values, who just happens to love the country you hate.
Jeff, your judgment and perception does not change the fact that there were not that many people. Just because you say you know there were over 100,000 does not mean you are right. Personal experience and testimony is never sufficient. If you knew that however, you probably would not have been there in the first place.
Andy,
you seem really really smart. I think you are right. Personal experience doesn’t mean anything. What truly matters is what people tell us. Take the economy for example. Doesn’t matter that those out of work will tell you the economy is terrible. We are told by really really smart people like you that say it the economy is better now and everyone is okay. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us all. God bless you.
Right on Matt!
Matt, quite right. That’s why the police always avoid looking for witnesses who rely on their own eyes and are willing to testify in court. Someone who was actually at an event obviously knows less about it than someone who saw the edited highlights on TV. Science seems to be turning in that same direction – empirical observation is irrelevant compared to general consensus.
OK, So I watched the whole thing, start to finish, on CSpan. (no comentators, just live feed).
Can you tell me what part of the actual event was controversial?
Was it the part where the Vet who lost his face to a grenade told about giving his life to God?
Or was it just that some white guy should not be allowed to speak on a particular day?
(I wonder how Dr King would feel about that attitude).
Alveda King impressed me greatly. I really want to hear more from her. What a strong woman.
Have we really come to the point in this country where we look at the color of the man’s skin before we listen to the words he is saying? (Again, I wonder how Dr. King would feel).
I started watching it early in the day on a live feed on Facebook. That feed showed over 120,000 people watching just on facebook. Then I switched to Cspan (HDTV beats streaming internet feed for picture quality).
I have no idea how many people were there.
Does that number somehow change the message which I heard?
I have no idea how many people actually heard Jesus give his sermon on the Mount, (I am sure that the Official Roman Authorities put the number in the low hundreds though.
PLEASE tell me that you did not intend, with that comment, to compare, equate, oranalogize Jesus Christ with Glenn Beck!! That’s REALLY just more than my heart (or my STOMACH) can take!
No, he was comparing CBS news estimates of 68,000 to the Romans. What a ninny.
Clearly Anna has not grasped the art of sarcasm just yet. Allowing that it is very difficult to pick up in prose, but the number estimated by the Roman authorities was a giant hat tip.
Dawn (see above) seems to think Obama is Jesus though
Coming down from above and helping everybody, and blah blah blah….
50,000 or 500,000, what does it matter? One percent of the nation’s population is about 3 million, so we’re quibbling over whether a sixth of one percent or a 60th of one percent of the population showed up. Lots of gullible folks out there, so the upside wouldn’t surprise me. God bless Obama, and God save the nation.
Is this the same Cliff from Cheers? Cliff, how many people voted last election? Do you think that would be a better indicator of the impact of the turnout? Just curious… We do vote for our elected officials and they happen to set the polices that we live under. You do realize that is the point of the rally, right? Restoring Honor in those we elect to lead. Don’t get me wrong, I know dems would love it if they could get young children to vote. It is so much easier to fool a child than it is an adult. Well, actually…..
Please tell Norm I said hello.
We did vote, and you guys lost.
Cliff – your attitude is what is wrong. Don’t you get it that this is the tip of the iceberg? Obama is on the wrong side of everything meaningful to the American people and yet there are people like you still following like sheep. You really need to take a good look around.
Make up your mind God bless Obama or God save our nation the two can’t go together.
Sure they can. Here is my pray…
Dear Lord, please help our president and all public officials make the right decisions to bring this great nation to its full potential.
All non-atheists can use this prayer.
I also frequently use “God save the nation” and “obama” in the same sentence, so we have something in common.
now there;s an oxymoran!!!
not saying he should, but he shouldn’t take MLK’s day from him. the speech was good but he shouldn’t have done that.
So does that mean that Al Sharpton shouldn’t have taken MLK’s day from him, either? Should the entire nation still be paralyzed with awe over something that happened almost half a century ago, or should we move forward with our lives, trying to keep the message alive? There are 365 days in most years. The odds are excellent that on any given day, something of extreme importance happened in history. We should not take each day and refuse to accomplish things out of someone else’s notion of “respect” for the people involved. I didn’t attend either rally. I didn’t watch either rally on TV. I went about my day, and took a moment to reflect on what Dr. King accomplished years ago, and then I moved forward in my own life, mindful of the sacrifices that so many before me had made in order to make my today a better day. Rather than wrap Dr. King’s message up in negativity, I suggest you all do the same.
No worries, he didn’t take it from him. Beck did his ‘the US is a Christian Nation’ speech on it, but didn’t take it from him. Only the (we’ll be generous) 350,000 people there possibly think it’s Beck’s day now. The other hundreds of millions of Americans who didn’t care about the rally, or who could care less about Beck, will see it as MLK day.
Beck, the entertainer, should not be taken seriously.
Ohhhh for gods sake, MLK has roads named after him in every state of the union. MLK smiled yesterday, and it’s not his day, it’s our day.
“MLK’s day??????” really?????? sheesh, get a grip
Take MLK’s day from him? Alveda King spoke at the rally? She ACTUALLY represents the ideals of MLK unlike Sharpeton and his ilk.
MLK day is in January. Look it up if you don’t believe me, the kids get out of school and everything.
Last year, I spoke to about 20 of my friends about MLK and his dream, does that mean I “took his day from him”? And exactly how is it possible to take away someone’s day?
If you say things to yourself out loud before you write them down, you may realize how ridiculous they sound. Just a suggestion.
BELIEVE ME, THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AT THE RALLY. THERE WERE THOUSANDS AT THE VIENNA METRO. GOD BLESS GLEN!!!!!
Dude! The actual count is more like twenty thousand. There were alot of people who were just visiting the capital and curious on lookers. So says my friend the park ranger.
Voice from Montana
If you were actually there you could not say that there were only 100,000 people; after the rally ended I waited over an hour and there were still huge lines for the metro (and many people came in by bus; most likely thousands but you probably wouldn’t believe that, guess you had to see it). As for any curious onlookers I would be shocked to hear that they would have come in early enough to find a spot on the mall to be there when the photos were taken of the crowds – I claimed my spot at 8:30AM and was 3/4′s of the way back in the crowd and it didn’t even start until 10; why on earth would someone waste that much time on their vacation to listen to someone speak if they were not passionate about the cause?
Oh, my, “from Montana”…. I’m sorry for your friend the park ranger. Was that person there that day or did their friend the museum curator tell them that? Or do they have poor eyesight? Maybe they work part time for the company CBS hired that said the 87,000… Just a few tourists – have you looked at the photos that are on the Internet. And remember each of the photos I’ve seen only shows one angle of the crowd. We were there at 8 a.m. among the nicest people one could ever meet. We left at about 11:45 to move on up to the Washington monument to watch from there. Could hardly get out because people still were arriving in droves. It was interesting and it was not political. Seems so sad that people congregating and wanting to honor GOD, our forefathers and the military people who have made it possible for you to say foolish things…. makes people angry. Hmmmmm…..
Sorry but I was there also and the estimates of less than 100k are pure fabrications. I have personally been in the national mall in large events when “official” crowd size numbers were given in addition to having attended large stadium college football games and can assure you that there were at least 300k. This count does matter as it shows how the media manipulates the message as opposed to simply reporting news.
I wants to be telling you dat dere wuz aboot 24 peeple there – dats all. Dey jus usin mirrors and countin peeples more times to gets thos big numbas.
Yes, we already knew how they did the count for the million man march.
I wants to be telling you dat dere wuz aboot 24 peeple there – dats all. Dey jus usin mirrors and countin peeples more times to gets thos big numbas.
VERY funny, racist white-guy!
Your comma after the word funny is confusing. Is he a VERY funny racist white-guy, or is the “VERY funny” sarcastic followed by an exlamated Racist white-guy accusation?
I watched the Al sharpton rally on cspan for an hour, WHAT A JOKE! Ive never seen or heard so much hate, racism and jealousy in my life. What a pothetic group. MLK was a great man and he must be rolling over in his grave because of of what these losers represent.
I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what he was “protesting”. Honor? Christianity? Any ideas out there?
Diogenes
I think very much that it was controversial because i am not sure if you know this or not but MLK was against war and for Union strikes. However Beck of course likes the killing of people and also seems to think all black people are racists. i dont think him and MLK would be friends.
With a name like Obamaman, I would expect a moronic comment like that….get off the race band wagon, its getting real old….this is politics not color of skin.
Obamaman,
If you are going to accuse someone of hate and war hawking please have your facts correct. Beck, while he can get a little out there, was and is not for either war. He is a conservative libertarian; which usually stands for non-interference in foreign affairs. Kind of like our founding fathers; such as, Washington, Madison, and Franklin. Please watch his founding fathers Fridays on Fox News Channel and you may be able to learn something other than the hate and propaganda that you apparently watch on the other networks. Secondly, please go read MLK “I have a Dream Speech” you may be surprised about his message.
MLK was for and againt what you stated, but could you describe how Beck “likes” the killing of people and how he thinks all black people are racist.
obamaman –
Apparently, you are getting your information about what Glenn Beck does or does not believe and advocate from the main stream media. Otherwise, you would have noticed that the first medal winner announced (Faith) was a black reverend. He frequently has black men and women on his panels. What in the world makes you state he advocates the killing of people? In the name of fairness, why don’t you try listening to Glenn’s programs in their entirety for a week. I think you’ll come away with a different notion of what Mr. Beck believes about black people and the killing of people.
I was there and I’ve never seen more people in one place in my life. I’ve been to sold out major college and Pro football games with 80,000 in attendance which paled in comparison to this Rally. I see a lost of people accuse Glenn of a lot of stuff like being racist or accusing all black people of being racist or promoting war etc. etc. but they never ever back it up. Either on this blog or any other. They just throw mud on a wall hoping some will stick. We had 2 black family on your bus to DC. They were tried of hearing the tea party people being called racist. I talked to 3 30 something men from DC on the metrorail who said that they were a democrats and was tired of hearing that the tea party folks are racist. He says he media doesn’t realize 16% of the democrat consider themselves part of the teaparty movement or agree with them on most issues. It’s time for honest talk instead of throwing mud. If you are going to demonize show a little evidence. Glenn doesn’t have a racist bone in his body and neither do the vast majority of the people who claim to be part of this movement. Socialism will enslave all of us.
It’s very amusing how the left has no problem demonizing and encouraging hate by crying “racist” at everyone they fear. 5,000, 50,000, 500,000. Big deal. You liberals are in for a shock come November.
The liberal media? That’s your excuse? So, every time you hear news that does not suit you, it’s the media. I guess you don’t have to believe anything you don’t want to believe. That doesn’t seem like a smart way to live your life.
Amen brother
What difference does it make how many? Although very few in attendance would show a bust, and very many would show more influence of something, I’m not sure what it shows in a country as big as ours and in our capital city, which many would like to visit.
More than 100,000 people show up at the numerous annual festivals in small cities across the country. Example: Columbia SC and and Savannah GA’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
If you advertise long enough and fervently enough, you can get a crowd for anything. And certainly the alleged purpose, re: for the vets, was a good cause, even if most of us know the real purpose was the aggrandizement of Glenn Beck.
Sharpton advertised and advertised, and I think he got a little less than 3,000 people showing up for his VERY unprofound remarks.
Glenn Beck, on the other hand, got well over 300,000 people in reponse to his call. That’s a very good indicator of how unhappy the country is with this Democrat Party move to Socialism.
Bev
The Tea Party is a Neo Natzi movement. Your counting methods are way off!
Where did Sharpton advertise? Beck had a network at his disposal and it wasn’t just his show that discussed it. Beck’s promotion of his event was probably larger than anything MLK could ever do.
That’s not true! I was at Al Sharpton’s speech and there were well obver 80 million people there.
See, we can do it too.
I know the mall was full, thats over a mile of people and the wooded areas were full also all the way to the Washington Monument. Thats over 500,000, you should have been there!
I enjoyed how the Beck weirdos were looking at me like they’ve never seen a black person when I ran into them in McDonalds after the event outside DC. They can go back under the rock they came from and may DC be disinfected now that it’s over. Funny how his suckers don’t get he’s laughing all the way to the bank. Grizzly mom needs your money also since she can’t do anything else.
Dc will have to be disinfected after oblahblah and his crooks leave
rz
Confirmation that black rascist exist. You must be a Al Sharpton follower.
You sound just a little bit racist.
How’s Al Sharpton, CBC and Marion Berry working for you these days:
***On January 18, 1990, Barry was arrested with a former girlfriend, Hazel “Rasheeda” Moore, in a sting operation at the Vista Hotel by the FBI and D.C. Police for crack cocaine use and possession.[25] The incident was widely broadcast on television, showing an enraged Barry excoriating Moore, who had….
Morons like you just keep pouring the money in their bank accounts.
You can keep your sorry racist self loathing attitude sucka.
AAAHHHHH perceived “racism”, how convenient. And don’t forget, us suckers pay all the bills. But not for long!
I know the event was heavy on the restore honor, reduce excessive government control, go back to God etc etc. But step back a bit and look at the big picture. What are all these white immigrants even doing here to start with? And towed along with them the black and brown immigrants. They are saying we need to reduce various evils yet they are the same evils they jumped ship on Europe to get away from!
Perhaps the overall problem here is a severe cultural wide case of “no matter where you go there you are” or “your issues will keep following you unless you take a good look in the mirror and handle the root problem”. The pillage, steal, lie and kill or if too many witnesses make that impossible just ridicule or supress anyone who doesn’t do it your way mentality is the problem here and the government created by these white people reflect it.
What little grace of God advancement they have in government they did not innovate. The founding fathers were heavily influenced by observing a native american culture that while there were elders and chiefs they did not have some guy telling everyone else what to do yet everyone worked together. This type of government wasn’t seen in Europe and the closest they ever came was ancient Greek democracy which still lacked the harmony and efficiency.
The problem is the same defects with this culture that have been spewed planetwide over pretty much every place on Earth is the basic problem here and it will take a lot more then reducing taxes and praying to the same God leading the same religion that gleefully killed or beat the indigenous into their narrow version of reality worldwide.
Your version is the only narrow thing in your comment. It sounds like you need some history lessons and lay off the mary jane
Ok what specifically is inaccurate? Why don’t you look into a little history yourself? You might be surprised there is a little more to it then a 3rd grade history book.
By Jerry Reth Filed in US News on August 29, 2010
Mr. King had 1/3 as many people est.@ 200,000
Ergo we hear you Mr.Beck-Staff loud and clear 600,000 X millions more at Home restoring right to choose.
There is no better time 2010 and 2012 to hand the President a firm reply to his “if you don’t like it” “vote me out” comment.
Remember Freedom of Choice: “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it,” proclaimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Vote me out…
About time someone some with inteligence, well said sir.
How predictable are these comments?
You all knew there would be a big argument about the crowd size, and about the politic-izing speeches… I’d say there was pretty much nothing newsworthy about the event, in the end. It was totally unsurprising…
No one could take seriously the crowd estimates from either Beck’s people or the far left observers. But neutral groups say there were about 100,000 or a bit more… the pictures show a crowd that gets pretty sparse out about the end of the reflecting pool… so that matches with previous events and numbers. Beck’s people got a 300,000 permit and there definitely isnt any suggestion that 300k was out of line. Beck supporters claims of 400 or 500,000 are clearly nothing but fantasy.
As already commented, using a really high estimate of 300,000, then that is 1/10 of 1% of the US people. This says that Beck’s group is real, but not very large – that it is getting a lot more publicity than the numbers deserve. There will be lots of surprises in November, but many of them will involve Tea Party failures…
The author of this is clearly biased against Beck and Palin. I am truly disgusted by his final shot at them both “It goes to show just how much power Glenn Beck has over his listeners/viewers, and also how much of a celebrity the keynote speaker Sarah Palin has become who thinks it is OK to say the word Ni*ger over and over again.”
For one, Beck has no “power” over me, but I do enjoy listening to someone who isn’t eager to kiss President Obama’s rear end. And secondly, I have never heard Sarah Palin use the N word. I challenge you to cite the source for your ignorant charge. You won’t, because there is no evidence of her saying it, you are just another ignorant un-informed clown who passes for a writer.
The idiot writer is confusing Sarah with that Laura Schlessinger radio host. What is the similarity they are both female and both have a wide audience? Apparently that was too confusing for him to figure out the differences.
Hitler started the very same way. Created a common hatred against a religion. Told lies and started to infect the minds of the weak. Soon he was in control of a country then he tried to control the world. He surrounded himself with death and distruction. In the end God proved that Hitler was no match for the power of goodness. Simply replace Hitler’s name with Glenn Beck (a rape suspect).
Glenn Beck is spreading hatred and lies!
Voice from Montana
Seems like Voice from Montana is spreading hatred and lies to me.
Wow, Montana, your comparisons are so way off, I fell embarrassed for you. You are missing the message here. All Mr. Beck is trying to get across to people is we need to get back to basics, live the way our forefathers meant for us to live, and why they gave us the constitution. The tea parties that are popping up all over the nation tells me that the “People” are tired of the dictatorship and tyranny they call burearcracy. There’s your Hitler equilavent, not Glenn Beck.
Here’s a better picture:

I just read all of the comments and no matter what the message is from anyone, a lot of these comments goes to show what the problems we face. No matter what you stand for or why you stand for it there will be at least one person to put you down, call you a racist, call you to stupid to know, or just try to offend you. If you are a Christian, believe in any god of your choice, or don’t believe in anything it was a good message of honoring many individuals for the good in there life. A lot of the speakers have given there time and money to charity not because they had to but wanted to for there own personal growth. If everyone that wrote on this board would do one good thing today how that could inspire another and another to do one good thing tomorrow. The next comment I would expect would be what a load of crap you hippy! That would be far from the truth. I am neither a hippy or a liberal conservative or independent. I am not white or black. I am an American!
I love how the comments from the left describe Republicans and Tea Party members as nothing but white racists, Glenn and Sarah as self-serving millionaires, etc. I was watching the Emmy Awards last night and thought the same thing of liberal Hollywood…didn’t see anything but a bunch of white, self-serving millionaires in that group. I think the left has us confused.
check out the photo…regardless of the actual number, even as a proud liberal, I agree, it is a LOT of people….a LOT of white, racist, dilusional and disgruntled right-wing bush voters. Hey listen, I really do hope you tea-baggers get Palin to run, because she will lose hard-core and THAT is a win for America. As for the “shock” comming in Nov, my advice is for you neocons to stock up on guns, bibles, and H1N1 vaccines.
Seeing video of the people at Beck’s rally had me thinking that there may be more diversity at a Klan rally!
The only hate I hear here, is from those against Glenn Beck. Those of you that say you watched it and it was filled with hate, seriously need to go back to school. Obviously you don’t understand english, the message was about love and loving each other and helping each other. How can you twist that into hate, unless of course your mind is twisted. What is wrong with Glenn Beck honoring MLK, because he is white? His neice doesn’t think that is an issue, why should you. Sounds to me like you have a race issue. Those of you that don’t understand “Take America Back”, it means to take it back from corrupt politicians and give it back to the people. They work for us and have have only been lining their pockets and not doing what is best for America. If you believe you are living free, you are still in the dream.
I think that was a very good event, but with all the money Glenn Beck makes, you think he could have hired a few people of color to attend the event for the obligatory photo op. You know, like when Michelle Obama organized speech back-drops with more white people? Just sayin’
Go Beck & Go Sarah! Jesus was a Jew and Liberal. Nothing wrong with that. He ate with tax collectors and prostitutes. Today, I think you would call those groups lobbyists.
Keep pushing the envelope of reason!
“Regardless of how many people showed up, the turnout was huge. It goes to show just how much power Glenn Beck has over his listeners/viewers, and also how much of a celebrity the keynote speaker Sarah Palin has become who thinks it is OK to say the word Ni*ger over and over again.”
Did I miss something? I’ve never heard Sarah Palin say anything of the kind. Can someone tell me how the MSM could miss something like this? I’d like to see someone cite this. I frankly don’t believe it.
Incorporating implications such as Beck having “power over” his listeners (implying they are mindless sheep), inaccurately communicating what Palin stated (OUT OF CONTEXT) regarding “Dr. Laura’s remarks” and then taking anything Al Sharpton has to say at face value (with no questions asked) clearly reveals that this article is not about anyone wanting to calculate numbers at a rally. It is about one getting his own narcissistic needs met under the umbrella of journalism…same ole’, same ole…
THAT is why there was a grand crowd gathered. People are deciding to finally figure truth out for themselves. Even if it requires them to travel 36 hours across the country on a bus, with no shower, in order to experience 10 hours in Washington and ONE moment in history. Because experiencing “a moment” in this great country has become a rarity.
Want to see a really big event.. wait for the November elections.
That is when actions will speak louder than words.
We are a center right country, thank God. If that ever changes God help us.
I am one who could not attend but I represent millions that feel same way the wonderful people who did attend feel.
first of all,I was there. at least 300,000 people, probably more, but its not really about numbers.secondly it not about race either, but I am part native american ,my son is part hispanic as well and my sister in law (whose husband is in the navy) is African American as are her children, is also asupporter, so there is your own rainbow coalition rally for restoring honor. What matters is the content of the mesagge, the character of the message.to Quote MJ it dont matter if your black or white. btw presidents work with congresses: the reason why things are different this time with Obama compared to Clinton is mostly that congress was already dem controlled since 2006 and liberals got stronger in 2008 whereas Clinton had to work with republicans most of his time in office.the balance actually helped everything that passed be more centrist.Clinton cared about public opinion and the will of the people- the current congress (and maybe president)clearly does not. From failing to secure the border to supporting gay issues while ignoring the BSA jamboree and the national day of prayer to passing laws without reading them, public opinion polls shows they areway out of step with those they are paid to represent. God Bless America
look at the photo, i see lots of open space. doesn’t look crammed at all. 80k
I would estimate, since I was there, about 80-90,000. Of course not all were there to support Beck. I would also estimate that 95-98% were white as I saw VERY few brown or black folks. Yep, not racist at all.
someone define racists for me. is it something you say, something you do, what. I watched Beck and I watched Rev. Al and it was plain to me who the racists were. Beck rally honored our troops, MLK and God, is that racists. Rev. Al said “they got the mall but we got the message” and “they got the platform but we got the dream”. sour grapes and division, that’s all I ever hear from the 3 Reverends, Al, Jesse and Jeremiah. This country needs a little unity and less division. The money has ran out its time to put God first, go to work and save America.
“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
Of course the liberal, lame stream media is going to downplay the rally, they make up stuff as they go along. They overinflate the democratic stuff, and dismiss the conservative, all the time. It looked to me at about 600K, maybe more, no doubt.
And you come to that estimate how? Multiplying by ten the attendance at a normal size football stadium?
Alot of people have appeared on Jerry Springer too. Hardly a majority.
Tommy, we don`t want the whitehouse. We want our country back where everyone had a job.
Interesting article, but may I ask what Glenn Beck’s religion has to do with anything? Harry Reid is a Latter-day Saint, too, so it’s obviously not like the Church is forcing its members’ politics.
Something that I have not seen a single news station report or Al Sharpton mention is that Martin Luther King’s own daughter was at this event despite death threats from the left if she came. The media is in bed with the left wing politicians. Of course they report everything from their side. And why are they so afraid of Glenn and Fox news? I thought we were supposed to have free speech in this country, not campaign to have Fox news shut down or Glenn Beck boycotted. I as a conservative would never dream of insisting that we shut down liberal stations. Both sides need their voices heard as watchdogs for our politicians. It makes sense.
Sorry, it wasn’t his daughter, it was his niece. My apologies.
I came upon a child of god his name was Glenn Beck
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going
And this he told me
Im going on down to the Lincoln Memorial
Im going to join in restoring America
Im going to honor our land
Im going to try an get my soul free
We are teaparty
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the founders
Then can I walk beside you Glenn
I have come here to lose the marxist lies
And I feel to be a cog in something turning
Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe its the time of man
I dont know who America is anymore
But you know life is for learning
We are teaparty
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the founders
By the time we got to the Lincoln Memorial
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers (geese)
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation
We are teaparty
230 year old patriots
We are golden
Obama is caught in the devils bargain
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the founders
interesting article. Very confused why you inserted that Beck is a “Mormon” more correctly a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Come on, keep up witht he times- but, what the heck? You inserted it and that was it, he is a Mormon and what…..just felt compelled? If you are gonna mention it, go with it..where were you going with it anyhow?
oh P.S. are saying that because he is a Latter-Day Saint that he is against Civil-Rights? Help me out here. if you are going “spread it” check your facts.
Beck is an entertainer not Jesus, MLK or anything else. I consider him fairly inconseqential with the exception that he makes some good points in relation to the direction of the country.
The direction of the country seems to have it’s own definition depending on whether you are on the left or right and yet the decline has spanded a time period where both sides have been in office.
Mainstream media absolutely biases the content based on their followers, that’s good business for them.
Politicians do the same thing because it keeps their career going.
The difference is that the Government is ours and Politicians are supposed to do what WE say rather than what big business or Wallstreet want.
If you want true change vote every last person out of congress and start over. There is not one person in congress that we couldn’t do without. The percentage is fairly good that you will get as many new “good” people as those who were percieved as good and voted out.
Think about the fact that electing Obama was “Change” so by definition change means voting out the old guard no matter right or left.
Career politicians are destroying this country, not just Obama or Glenn Beck.
LIBERALS going crazy!!! I Love it!!!
No matter the numbers, they are fighting for the numbers, hair spliting numbers but….
There are a lot of common sense Americans that DO NOT drank the koolaid.
Liberals are getting extincts, THANKS TO OBAMA, GREAT!!!
No matter the number, if a million people on the Washington Mall choose to drink the Jim Jones cocktail, that is their right, but those with common sense know better. It’s like your parents always told you, just because Glenn jumped off the Empire State Building doesn’t mean you have to as well.
Personally, I question the motives of any event, political or otherwise, that would feature Sarah Palin as a guest speaker; and yes, I HAVE heard her speak in person. Pathetic and as an American, embarrassing.
just do the numbers folks!
The distance between the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to the WW II Memorial is approximately 600 m (and pls don’t jump on me for using metric units!)
The area aligning either side of the reflecting pool is about 130 m wide
That gives you a footprint of some 77k m²
You can fill that space with at least 2 to max.6 people
Thus, the range of attendees is 150 – 462 k
The upper limit jives with the official capacity statements
Given the pictures I have seen, the crowd was not “crammed” and there were quite a few open spaces in between, I venture to say that some 120 – 180k were in attendance
Check my post
Jerry Reth – your description of Sara Palin ([someone] who thinks it is OK to say the word Ni*ger over and over again) shows not only your bias but your lack of maturity.
How come you left out Sharpton’s desription as someone who thinks it is OK to call gays “homos” or Jews “diamond merchants” or even says Mormons don’t believe in God.
Too bad you killed all this good important information with a personal dig.
Hey got great answer for doubters. I checked Metro rail use for8/28 it was up 207,000 from last year. Wonder why? correct number exceeds 300,000 do to fact 1/3 traveled by other means. dispute that gentemen and ladies. I mean numbers do not lie.
I was there. 750,000 at the Restoring Honor rally, and this is a Conservative estimate.
