No, she is safe. My sister lives there and we have been on the phone all evening. Her son who lives in Baytown and some other friends came to her house because the area is safe.

Have relatives in Crosby TX. Much damage?

  12. Larysa | Sep 18, 2008 | Reply

There are tons of trees down in Crosby. I live in Lake Shadows (Foley Road) and there is a substantial amount of damage. I heard Indian Shores and Newport had a lot of damage as well.

You can expect wind. And rain. Then you can expect your fence to be blown down. And you know that one lone towering Dr. Suess-looking pine tree that the developers left in your yard, yep, the one with no root support or natural wind break? Well that baby will be falling down. Of course since it’s about 150 ft tall, it will smash something in just about ANY direction it falls. (? Any lessons to be learned here Houston developers?). And finally, no power for a week +. Thanks in part again to the fragile pines that nobody has ever seemed to notice HAVE BEEN GROWING ALL AROUND THE POWER LINES UNTRIMMED FOR 20 YEARS!. (? Any lessons to be learned Centerpoint?).
