Katja Puschnik:Woman Throws Puppies In River Found By Police – The teenage girls who was shown in a video throwing live puppies into a fast flowing river has been tracked down by Bosnian police, according to a number of reports that have been released by officials. The teenager was seen wearing a hooded top, caused a lot of commotion when the video made its way online. It appeared as if she was taking pleasure in killing newborn puppies by throwing them into the river one at a time and even made “weee” sounds as she did so.
It immediately caused a stir on the internet, with thousands of people attempting to track down her information. Police said that the girl was found in the Bosnian town of Bugojno, and was found via a number of leads that they received from animal protection groups inside of Bosnia.
Most media outlets have decided not to publish the girls name in order to protect her safety, but a number of online search groups have already retrieved her info and spread it around the web. The story was big enough to prompt “Transformers” director Michael Bay to offer a $50,000 reward for prosecution of the young woman.
A number of animal rights groups are already calling for the prosecution of the woman. She was allegedly recognized on the video by individuals that knew her in her home town, who then sent her information to a number of animal rights organizations. That information was then forwarded to police departments who detained the girl for questioning about the incident.

First of all, You’re talking about animals that are considered livestock in America. Dogs are not livestock in America. Cats are not livestock in America.

The difference between dogs and maggots is that dogs are known for being a man’s best friend. No matter how many friends, significant others, or even family members turn on you and betray you, your dog will always love you and show it. And every time you walk through that door, he’s going to be just as happy to see you the next day as he was the day before. THAT is why seeing a girl throw puppies in a river is more heartwrenching than seeing maggots being thrown in.

I am all for humane killing. But honestly if you have an rabbit and your starving, your going to have to kill it for food. If there’s a chance that they would die quicker and humanely, I will try before giving them a slow death by drowning them (takes about 10 minutes of breathing IN water that FILLS YOUR LUNGS! The difference, again, is that maggots DON’T act like that. Even if it is possible to train them in such a way and domesticate them over the years like dogs have been, (and fuck if I know, maybe it is, although I’m not sure if they have the brain capacity that a more complex creature like a dog or a rat would have). Maggots as we know them now are not like a dog. You’re right, we spent generations working with dogs and making them what they are today. That’s why we cherish them. They have great companionship value, along with many other animals. Dogs and humans have a different relationship than humans and maggots. I don’t think rats, dogs, cows or chickens or any creature deserves to be tossed into a river and left to die. If it was absolutely necessary, I would do what I had to in order to survive, but I wouldn’t torture something for shits and giggles.

My beautiful, kind and humane daughter was murdered by a teenager who had a history of doing things very similar to this as a younger teen. I have heard it said “like begets like” and “one thing leads to another” in most instances, those things seem to ring true. Perhaps this is one of those instances. Parents today are under more stress than ever, some can not cope properly, thus, their children are “damaged.” I don’t presume to know this girl’s home situration, but as others have said, taking this type of malicious joy in hurting anything alive indicates a certain lack of empathy with the living world. There is no simple solution to the problems the world faces these days, including problems like this. This teen started out as an innocent child. As did the horribly damaged teen that murdered my daughter. What is the real root of the problem? What possible solution is there? I highly doubt that it is a matter of who chooses to eat meat and who doesn’t. I didn’t hear any mention in the original report of anyone eating anything; or not.

Yes, we, as a people, kill cows and pigs and chickens for sustenance, but there are vegetarians to negate your argument. And even if I do eat beef, pork and chicken, I can still give a damn about the killing of other animals. Taking pleasure in the slaughter of anything (even bugs!) is off base. That is what is so wrong about this girl. If she were living in an environment that required her to eat dogs and cats to be able to live, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal.

On principle it is the same as “where do we draw the line on choosing which animals not to kill?” Intelligence, beauty, personality, or charm? The girl is demented and needs therapy. It has been well established by research that people who abuse animals often go on to perform heinous crimes against humanity. What people in America fail to understand is the only thing that girl did that was a little off was that she acted like she enjoyed it. Maybe it was her way of dealing with the fact that she had to put her newborns puppies to death because if she didn’t they would simply end up like all the other thousands and thousands of stray dogs getting hit by cars daily, starving to death, freezing to death, etc… What she did was humane, those puppies were dead in less than 5 seconds. In order to be moral we have to be objective. In other words, you could make the same statement about someone whose little girl threw new born humans in the river. Its easy to see you lack the common sense to see the difference between animal rights and just plain compassion for life. With that said there are appropriate ways to handle certain situations with putting animals to sleep. Having your daughter, or grandaughter throw them in a river while showing pure joy is not one of those ways.

I am a poor individual living on disability income, yet I find the money to feed many feral cats that were abandoned by my next door neighbor when they moved out. I brought six of them into my single apartment since the owner did not want them on the property, otherwise he was going to trap and kill them. Life is very difficult with these kitties and they have broken several objects, but we are all adjusting. We are opposite people, this terrible woman who took so much glee in killing those innocent puppies. My knee jerk reaction was that I wished she had fallen into the same river where she hurled the puppies and drowned.I wonder if the person filmimg this woman killing these puppies would have tried to rescue her. It seems to me that he/she had a moral obligation to stop the lady from this terrible act.

If it is necessary to euthanize puppies on a farm, there must be a more humane method than throwing them in a goddam river! You could hear the puppy crying. That girl is a psychopath.
Lets say we all we’re in the girls position according to the video. She obviously isn’t physco because, someone was filming this so it was a planned event between the both of them {maybe both were physco? i don’t know}. I could only stomach to watch the first 10 seconds of the video. It broke my heart, and one word kept running through my mind, EVIL, EVIL, EVIL. Bad deeds have a way of coming back to bite in the butt. One day, later in life, she may find herself in a bad situation, and seeing as how loyal we dogs are to humans, will still come to her rescue, and then she’ll feel like dog poop for the rest of her life. I agree with everything you said, but I would not be so sure there is no God to punish this type of behavior. I can see how disbelief would occur as we see evil acts like this carried out. Nor does it make sense, when as you say, they try to justify their actions. The Flip Wilson saying “The Devil made me do it!” comes to mind when people avoid responsibility. But God is longsuffering, waiting for us to turn to him and change our ways. Repentence is a possibility, but as long as they try to rationalize evil acts, they will never turn from their wicked ways or avoid their ultimate outcome.

The truly sad part is the reaction I see by most. You value the life of an animal over that of a human being. This really disturbs me. There have been many threats of beating, cutting, raping/sodomizing, drowning, and all types of torture…over puppies. While I agree that this was a very disturbed act on her part and that of the videographer they are people. I am not going to assume judgement on them, however I do believe that what they did was wrong. As some had stated, it wasn’t too long ago in our country that drowning unwanted animals was a legitimate way of disposing of them. There were also some other ways that were not as humane, but you did what you needed to do. TRUE it was not done with as much apparent enjoyment and thrill. Many say “if this were my daughter”…evidently you have no children or you would not appear so callous…and if you do have children be nice to them. I would seek the appropriate help for my child if this were the case, not try to destroy their life over this type of behavior. The LORD is judge and it is HIS sovereign right to determine the fate of this person, just as it is for HIM to determine yours. I don’t justify this girls actions, nor your responses…they are just as much off base. Try compassion. There is NO time when an animals life is equal to or greater than that of a human being. If and when it is…what does that make the value of your life?
