Kavya Shivashankar:Spelling Bee 2009 – Spelling Bee 2009 winner is none other than Kavya Shivashankar who is an eighth grader from Olathe, Kansas.Kavya Shivashankar who brilliantly managed to land in the Top 10 in the Scripps National Spelling Bee for the last three years correctly spelled the word L-a-o-d-i-c-e-a-n to win the 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee.Kavya beat Tim Ruiter who was eliminated on “maecenas”.
