KFC Double Down Chicken Sandwich
KFC Double Down Chicken Sandwich – If your mouth didn’t water when you saw this commercial you are probably about the only one who could say that. We were happy when KFC brought their boneless chicken wings to the table. Then came grilled chicken from a place called Kentucky Fried Chicken. Now they are mass marketing a sandwich known as the “Double Down.” Well it looks rather appealing to us, but lets find out a bit more about it. You can gather just from the commercial that it uses chicken for its bun, you might think that’s going to create a mess, but KFC tried to recognize this flaw and the Double Down has been perfected so that napkins might being a thing of the past because they aren’t as messy as they might appear.
It is set to launch Monday and consist of a sandwich with two chicken fillets which will serve as the bun. Inside the “chicken buns” are two pieces of bacon, melted Monterey Jack and pepper Jack cheese as well as some sauce for flavoring.
It’s going to cost a solid price of $5. It might not compete with McDonald’s mini meals but keep in mind this is a rather large sandwich. It will also have 540 calories, about as much as a whole meal. The grilled version will have 460 calories. As far as calories, it is about as much as McDonald’s big mac or a large fry at Burger King. The sandwich also has 1,380 milligrams of sodium though. If you are aware, the American Heart Association recommends only 1,500 milligrams of sodium a day. This means that by getting the sandwich, you are already very close to your recommended amount of sodium for your entire day. While it might look appealing, taste delicious, and be a good substitute for your lunch, the only thing making this meal unique is that it has a huge amount of sodium, all in one sandwich.
