On Wednesday night, 20-year old college student Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari was arrested by FBI Agents. The young man had written in one of his journals, “It’s time for jihad. I put my trust in God.”

Aldawsari also wrote, “One operation in the land of the infidels is equal to 10 against occupying forces in the land of the Muslims.” He could receive life in prison for his plans to rent cars filled with bombs. He planned to detonate them after he hid in a “safe place.” One attack even targeted former President George W. Bush.

Aldawsari was clear about his intentions in an e-mail, in which he explicitly stated his plans to avenge U.S. involvement in Muslim nations. NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly states, “Obviously, we’re concerned any time New York City is referenced in this way. We’ve known we’re at the top of the terrorists’ target list, and this confirms it.”

Aldawsari was a student at South Plains College. He was apprehended after a North Carolina chemical company notified authorities of the student’s plans to buy 10 bottles of materials to make bomb. He used codenames to cover his targets, George W. Bush’s house in Dallas called the “Tyrant’s House.”
