Kwame Kilpatrick Detroit Mayor Jailed-Kwame Kilpatrick, Detroit mayor has been escorted to the county jail earlier today and must stay there at least 24 hours for violating his bond.Detroit news outlets are reporting that Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick who is currently facing perjury and other felony charges, but has refused calls to resign was arrested for going to Windsor, Ontario, on the opposite shore of the Detroit River on July 23.Mayor Kilpatrick apologized to Judge Ronald Giles of the 36th District Court in Detroit for violating the terms of his bond, which required court approval for any travel outside of Michigan, and promised that he would not make such a mistake again.Kwame Kilpatrick asked that his young sons watch the hearing so they could see their father admit wrongdoing.
