As a National Guard Soldier getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan, I think this story brings reality to the job that the military faces in war. Without putting a face and story behind the sacrifice of one of our fallen, how can the nation understand the true sacrifice of this young Marine. His parents should be proud that he stood up for what this country stands for. Every Soldier/Marine fears this outcome, but we fight beside our buddies anyway. The nation should not be left in the dark. Support the troops.

Thank you to the people at Spreadit for showing the decency which AP apparently does not have by not publishing the photo of a warrior’s last moments in life.
