I really cannot imagine that some of those who added comments here did not really know what Senator Obama was referring to was Senator McCain’s attempts to make his policy proposals SEEM like changes from Bush’s policies. The “lipstick” analogy had been used much earlier by McCain in referring to Hillary Clinton’s health care plan proposal, but was not leaped upon at that time as a slur against Senator Clinton or women in general. Thus, the McCain campaign’s attempt to create drama and disparity when Obama made that comment is merely another cheap shot, made in desperation because they have so little else to offer.

I am 73 years old and I live in a University Town and I have never heard, “Lipstick on a Pig” used in political statement. Would you please tell me which politican ever used this statement until Sarah Palin. And now Obama has used it but she is pretty clever so I do not think she even cares if he slanders her or not. I hope she never skips and shows him as the saying goes, “where the bear sh–ts in the buckwheat.

What exactly is the big deal? Are we being PC now about offending pigs? For God’s sake, it’s a cliche! General Petraus when he talked about the situation in Iraq and John McCain used it when talking about Hillary Clinton’s policies.

And the Right says the Left is sensitive? Now, that’s calling the “kettle black”.
