Mary Bale: UK Woman Dumps Cat In Bin – Cat Dumped In Trash Video – Some people just aren’t cat people, but not everyone throws cats into the bin like a cranky, grey haired old woman did to the ire of people, cats lovers or not, world wide.
Surveillance footage which caught her in the act, has the old lady patting the cat, then casually grabbing the cat by the scruff of the neck, throwing the cat into the bin, and placing the lid on the bin, then walking away.
According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which is the main prosecutor of cruelty to animals cases, the cat was left in the bin for around 15 hours before it was rescued from it’s predicament after it’s owners heard it’s muffled cries coming from the bin. The cat was unharmed, but quite obviously distressed.
The public in the area have been outraged, and this has caused police to ask residents and the public to calm down and allow them to do their job.
“Coventry Police are supporting the society’s investigation and would urge the public to leave the matter to be dealt with in the appropriate manner by the authorities,” the West Midlands police department said in a statement.

She is defending her actions by saying that she thought it would be funny. But I do not see her laughing as she tossed the cat in the bin, closed the lid and walked off. Whether you did it because your a mean old crochety woman or because you thought it would be funny doesn’t matter because in either case that was cruel.
This woman must be arrested to the full extent of the law. Heavy sentence will do too !

I agree. Cruelty is cruelty. The fact that she is quoted as saying she is “shocked” at the public outrage and did it as a “joke”, is appalling, her sense of ethics, values and compass of right and wrong is obviously wayyyy off! Normal people don’t practise abuse Mary Bale. I’m not from the uk, I’m from the middle east and outraged, disgusted, appalled as such action. I’m glad you are being publicly shamed, hope you get the maximum penalty as per british law, u deserve it! Shame on you Mary, shame, shame, shame!!!
I just want to add, that, one of the things I most admire about the U.K., is the way the animal abuse laws are upheld. You abuse an animal, it’s investigated, and you do jail time! Animals, should be protected and there is no excuse for animal cruelty, none, whatsoever. Mary Bale, bankworker, of Coventry, you did a cruel, disgusting, appalling thing, your photo is in every national and international paper…..you deserve the public humiliation and shame that will ensue. And I hope it changes your life to bring awareness to yourself and reflection on what you did. It’s obscene what you did, the world over, global opinion is the same as the public outcry and outrage that was felt in britain. I can assure you that globally people’s shock at your actions is universal. I feel sorry for you that you have no conscience of what is right and what is wrong.

shes now under police protection outside her house and the cat has been showered with gifts and slept on a new pink fluffy pillow and has a new leopard print cat tunnel thanks to the generosity of sun readers so its a happy ending.
What really guts me is this is how ‘normal’ people carry on – imagine what the … 20 percent ‘abnormal’ of us in society are getting up too. Well baby p was a prime example of that.

EVIL AND NUTS. I hope this &@$%& never has a peaceful moment ever again in her cruel, unnatural life. There was no reason for that, no matter what the cat – or any cat – may have done. Cats are just being cats, it’s their owners responsibility to keep them indoors and safe. People are sick.

What an absolutely sick and cruel woman! That sweet little kitty was trusting and loving in front of its own home. She should be prosecuted for taking people’s beloved property and making her own incomprehensible decision to throw it in a trash bin. I despise her and anyone else who is cruel to trusting and defenseless animals. Disgusting. I will be disturbed by this for quite some time.
The only acceptable explanation was that if she was truly retarded……I mean with the developed brain of a 4 yr old. But then again, I don’t think a kid of any age would do this “to be funny”.

At least she would have the comfort of presuming that someone will come and let her out after a while, the cat had no way of knowing this…… what if she had done this on a collection day…… (did she care?)…

Funny how in her ‘out of character split second moment’ she took at least 10/15 seconds to look around and think about what she was doing before she threw the cat in the bin. I don’t think it’s worth death threats but I do hope she gets prosecuted. Even better would be to throw her in a wheelie bin for 15 hours. I am an avid animal lover and I am glad to see so many passionate responses about this kind of thing. What grieves me is that this cat approached her and trusted her.
DISGUSTING OLD HAG. To stroke the cat, who was being friendly and loving and then do that. The worst thing about this, is the possibility that the bin, could be taken into the truck and either crushed or cleaned with chemicals. She must of known this- and not cared for the cats life.

The crime is evident, she scanned the area for witnesses, committed the act and scurried away.
Her chunky trunk never moved as fast as it did when she scampered out of view after the deed.
They should take nasty skanks like these and leave them at the bottom of tall dark silo for an indeterminate period.
If anyone expresses concern or outrage, just justify it as “it is just a skank, what is everyone so upset about?”

The sad thing is, this cat was friendly and totally trusting towards this woman. I would sort of understand if the cat was rabid and had attacked her badly…but this animal was as innocent as a newborn. I just don’t see how people can abuse animals in this way…and this isn’t even the worst of it
The good news is that the general public recognizes this was a pretty sh*tty thing to do, and that gives me faith in humanity.
Thank God the owners found their precious cat alive. This cat easily could have been killed by Mary Bale’s actions. If it weren’t for the video footage she would have gotten away with it. Hopefully, she comes to realize just how awful her actions were.
This women seems to be a sociopathic personality. obviously animal mutilation or torture is something that she enjoys. I am less worried abouty the cat and more concerned about what might be rotting in her basement or if any of her husbands, or children died mysteriously. Seriously someone that does this so non chalantly is doing it for the thrill and is seriously messed up in the head. They should be searching her family history,criminal record and yard for bodies more then the cat thing.
