Moses High On Mount Sinai?

Israeli researcher Benny Shanon has revealed that Moses was high on psychedelic drugs on the Mount Sinai, when he heard God deliver the Ten Commandments.
Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wrote in the Time and Mind journal of philosophy:
“As far Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a supernatural cosmic event, which I don’t believe, or a legend, which I don’t believe either, or finally, and this is very probable, an event that joined Moses and the people of Israel under the effect of narcotics,”
Shanon also suggested that Moses was probably also on drugs when he saw the burning bush.
He mentioned his own experience when he used ayahuasca, a powerful psychotropic plant, during a religious ceremony in Brazil’s Amazon forest and experienced visions that had spiritual-religious connotations.

Benny Shanon, this is an insult to millions of Christians around the world. Do you have any solid evidence to prove this was an historical fact and not just mere speculation on your part?
If you don’t believe in supernatural cosmic events, fine, that is your decision but don’t impose such ideas onto faithful believers like us who take it as a part of history.
Your own experience proves nothing.
