New Zealand Bans Fat Woman

A British woman named Rowan Trezise has banned from entering New Zealand because she is too fat.
When the couple first tried to gain entry to the country they were told that they were both overweight and were a potential burden on the health care system.
Mr Trezise who is a submarine cable specialist and former member of the army managed to lost the weight and was allowed into the country where he got a job as a technician.
Rowan had to stay behind in Britain and faces a desperate battle to shed the pounds before Christmas.
Robyn Toomath, a spokesman for New Zealand’s Fight the Obesity Epidemic and an endocrinologist said :
“The immigration department can’t afford to import people who are going to be a significant drain on our health resources.
“You can see the logic in assessing if there is a significant health cost associated with this individual and that would be a reason for them not coming in.”
The New Zealand Immigration Service could not say how many people had been refused entry for being obese.

Good for New Zealand! It’s about time there were some limits imposed upon the health care system. HearHear!

Have any of you nasty critics given thought to the fact that millions of people worldwide are overweight because of an illness, disease or other medical disorder, such as Hypo-Thyroidism or Cushing’s Disease? Or perhaps medication they take for high blood pressure, heart problems, depression, anxiety, etc. has caused them to gain weight and their continued use – which is necessary to survive – keeps them from losing weight? Shame on all of you for automatically assuming this poor woman is overweight because she eats too much or the wrong foods.
This makes me ashamed to admit that I’m of Kiwi heritage.
(P.S. I know what the lot of you are thinking… That I’m “just another fattie”… For the record, I am 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weigh 121 pounds)
