How Obama and The Republicans Can Make America Great Again

There is a very big possibility that Barack Obama will be reelected as president of the United States in November of 2012 which makes us wonder what will his second term in office look like.

Mr. Obama has the options of being remembered as the first African-American president which is a remarkable accomplishment or better yet as the greatest president in the US’ history.

He can be the latter by putting his country first – something politicians like John McCain often spoke about but fail to do.

During the next four years, Obama can be inspired by Gerhard Schröder to become the most unselfish and patriotic President who ever served this wonderful country.

To do so he would need to leave politics aside, leave parties aside and focus solely on elevating America to the pedestal it once stood on – when it lead in technology, science, business, when it built the tallest skyscrapers, longest bridges and fastest trains on this planet.

In March of 2003 Chancellor Gerhard Schröder came up with what was called the Agenda 2010 – a plan designed to make Germany the best country in Europe, by creating jobs, making the Federal Republic business friendly and by giving the Germans a sense of pride.

The concept was not perfect but it took the economy in the right direction, it changed the system of social security, and straightens Germany’s position on the world market to the point of making it the most powerful country in the Eurozone – the only one not to have its prestigious AAA credit rating dropped by ratings agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P).

In his second term Obama can stop making empty promises, stop fighting with Republicans, and have the economy rolling again, get the unemployment rate down, fix the dilapidating infrastructures, get the nation’s AAA rating back, do something about America’s broken immigration system – in a nut shell make America amazing again and leave a legacy behind that can only be compared to Ronald Reagan’s.

Copying the Agenda 2010, the President can set out a series of reforms that will gradually go into law and revolutionize politics.

Let us take unemployment for example – instead of sending out a check to those who are jobless, give them the opportunity to earn their salary by proposing them construction jobs or to work with wounded soldiers.

Make America more business friendly by lowering taxes for enterprises that hire a certain number of people each year.

Facilitate business creation and deregulation is always an option in order to compete with China and Brazil that are thriving.

As for immigration reform – seeing that it will cost the government too much money to round up 12,000,000 people and send them back to the countries they came from, with an executive order lift the ten-year ban so they can return home and apply for a visa or legalize a small group of illegals every year.

These reforms will meet opposition and they will spill a lot of ink but if enacted they will make America the greatest place on earth again they are so worth it.
