Obama School Speech:Obama School Address September 8 To Students – Obama school speech/Obama September 8 speech/Obama’s Address to Students preview is here.President Obama is set to deliver a big speech on education to students all over America on September 8, 2009. Obama’s Address to Students will be broadcast on the White House website at 12 noon EST.Here is a preview of the Obama school speech/Obama September 8 speech:
The President will challenge students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning. He will also call for a shared responsibility and commitment on the part of students, parents and educators to ensure that every child in every school receives the best education possible so they can compete in the global economy for good jobs and live rewarding and productive lives as American citizens.
Since taking office, the President has repeatedly focused on education, even as the country faces two wars, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and major challenges on issues like energy and health care. The President believes that education is a critical part of building a new foundation for the American economy. Educated people are more active civically and better informed on issues affecting their lives, their families and their futures. This is the first time an American president has spoken directly to the nation’s school children about persisting and succeeding in school. We encourage you to use this historic moment to help your students get focused and begin the school year strong.
That’s all we have for now on Obama School Speech:Obama School Address.

I teach MY children and students to value education set goals and work hard!! I don’t need the president to do it for me. It is MY job to raise my kids not the government’s or the President’s. The government does not need to hold my hand and lead me through life. I can take care of myself and my family. That is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and seeing that is how my children will learn it.

America serves GOD. Could have fooled me. This is the most racist country in the WORLD. America is racially, socially and ecomomically divided. YES you are trouble makers, thieves and murderers. American’s stole from the Native Americans, the Mexicans and raped, killed and enslaved African Americans. So, don’t dare speak of “religion” or “God.” America was built on lies and other peoples blood. The “United States of A-murder-ca!”

It is amazing how much vitriol comes out of self-proclaimed christians. Why do the Republicans think it is wrong for the President to talk to kids about the importance of education? Bush 41 gave this same type of speech in 1991 and Newt Gingrich and other Republicans thought it was fine. As usual, it’s only okay when a republican does it.

What’s the big deal. He wants to promote education and help students feel a sense of self worth. I don’t see the problem.

i agree with factnotfiction. i am a student and i really don’t get why people are making a big deal about our president telling us that it is important to get an education. it is important to get an education, and some relatives don’t stress that to their kids. who else is gonna do it? (don’t say teachers and school officials because what really happens is it goes in one ear and out the other) i think that it is improtant to get an education and i am glad that the president is stressing that.from him, it’s a little more impressive, and a little less worn-out.
and really? what does God have to do with this?

Why can’t we preview the speech before our children are forced to watch it.

Tabitha, unfortunately, not all parents teach their children to value education and hard work. Some parents only view the school system as a “babysitter.” Some of these parents also do want the government to raise their children and their philosophy is passed on to the next generation. Perhaps, addressing the children directly about the importance of education and living productive lives can help break that cycle.

I can’t believe some of these people!!! I fought in Viet Nam and saw my buddies get killed or maimed for live for THESE fu**ing morons???? It really tears me up to see people that are so self-centered, so “righteous”, so opinionated, so hateful and they have the NERVE to call themselves Americans! It seems we can no longer have a civil discourse in America because of all the un-civil people. I fought with blacks, gays, Jews, a Muslim, yankees and rebels and you know what? Their blood is all the same color, they all had families, they all had dreams of things they want to do, most loved kids and animals, and most didnt want to be there in the first place, but they were and we all watched each others back whether we liked him or not. Let Obama speak to the kids. Let them hear an American President that can string together a sentence that makes sense without mangled words in it. I, for one, would love to hear it. Obama inspires me. For the others, I just wish I had my M-16 back, for they are my enemy now. Unlike them, I swore an oath to defend this country against all aggressors both foreign and domestic and I live by my words – as should ALL good soldiers.

For all you “Christian right” folks out there like Sue Bucklew: Please read the NEW Testament. But if you must dwell on the old, try Leviticus 19:16-18.

I am a republican. What exactly do you suspect the President will say? He will not say anything to inflame any party but will likely echo the same things that Christian families tell their children. I did not vote for him and don’t approve of a lot of his political ideas, however I respect the office of the President of the United States and appreciate the fact that he is also a dad. I and my children will watch the President’s address together and we will discuss his statements. My children are homeschooled, so this presents no difficulty for us. I expect the President to remind students that the future is theirs to make of it what they will. We have great hope for our children, and we intend to help them achieve their goals every step of the way. I expect he will encourage teachers and school systems to take charge of the students that have been placed in their care and commit to making sure each student is engaged, challenged, and focused in each class so they benefit from the effort that is spent on ensuring their bright futures. Parents must not sit back and think the public education system can do it all. Parents’ involvement in their children’s education is vital to the learning process. We give our children the foundation of unconditional love and encouragement and teach them what’s valuable in life. How can we do that by neglecting their education and leaving it to strangers? Stop complaining about public school performance and get involved with your children’s education now.

I am so thankful for people like you!!!! I will be sending my 8 yr old to school on Tuesday and I pray that enough people will quit obsessing over the color of our presidents skin and open their eyes to the fact that this speech could very well give their kids the want to educate themselves about all things. If the parents think its ok to make their kids read books about gay penguins then whats the big deal if they get encouragement to get a good education!! Thank you for your service to the United States of America. You are a hero and I wish more people like you would voice what this country is supposed to be about.

What happened to being honored that the president of our country would speak to the youth and stress education and staying in schoolto improve their future and the future of our country, afterall our youth are the future leaders . I think family, education, and self worth are the backbones of a strong future for everyone. I think we should be thrilled that our president will speak with our school kids.

The fear and hatred is UNreal. I remember listening to Reagan as a kid…not to mention a local, bumbling State Assemblyman who came into my 8th grade class and started talking about gun rights and prayer in school (this was a public school, btw). I didn’t agree with the man (and neither did my parents) but they made me go to class that day and listen, respectfully, to what he had to say. If you’ve taught your children to use the brain God gave them, then you have nothing to fear….if you didn’t……. then… welllll ……oops.

IGNORANCE, Where was all the anger when our FORMER president was throwing americas income into the trash? Where was the anger when he was make rash and stupid decisions. Obama, is the only president who have cared what the people think (Town Hall Meetings). Did our FORMER president ever ask americans what we think before he spend millions . Where were the protesters when you knew he was spending all of our money? Why wasn’t you protecting your childrens future then. Yeah, it’s so easy to blame Obama, because you sat back and watch a man you had faith in almost ruin America and you want to talk about Hitler, well lets compare Hitler and Bush (Liar) Hitler watched Jews suffer and die, Bush (Liar) watched many Hurrcain Katrina victims suffer and die and the ones he so called helped are now homeless. Now lets see, who do Bush sell his oil to? We found Saddam, but not 7ft. tall, in poor health Bin Ladden, what a shocker. Blame the right person for Americas problems. Want your 401k money back, go to your FORMER president 4,000 square ft. home and ask him for it. Keeping your kids home from school, the ignorance doesn’t fall to far from the tree.

As usual its the extremist republicans, all the illetrate from the right who cant read, write or spell and want the same for their kids,so while you want to keep your kids away from school just because our president is speaking to our kids, good, keep them as far away as possible, they can all grow up to be like the parents .who wants their kids to be around those kids who come from racist, illetrate families, youre sad, sick bitter people, thats why the world is moving well ahead of you,the rest of us will send our kids to school and college, and by the way this has nothing to do with God.Kudos to Brian and M-Martin,its good to be open minded!
