If putting an apostrophe in a word regardless of it being necessary means a person is uneducated , then stupid people like you who refer to folk’s as left and right winger’s are just plain brain-washed idiot’s who follow other’s as you are incapable of thinking for yourselves. I actually find it funny that you made such a meaningless gesture as if it really matters. However for your ignoramous information I will point out and I quote “STUPID I ALREADY KNOW THAT”. This is not a spelling test , it is a disgust forum aimed at dumb people who hang on to stupidity for nothing useful. Can you take a hint? What did you do look the words up in the dictionary to make your point? And furthermore the pilgrim’s who created this so-called “United States” , surely had no problem with “GOD” when they were slaughtering Native American’s and deeming them savages. As a matter of fact , they claimed at the time that it was “GOD” who had given them this country. Oh Yeah! Then why the hell did they have to resort to such savage means to obtain it? Thus reverse-psychology was born leaving many innocent victim’s in it’s path. To this day some who are punished receive unjust sentencing[minority] while other’s receive a slap on the wrist[majority]. So kill that left and right B.S. and call it what it is[Propaganda]. Also , I implore you to read those scriptures “Mr Education” , then show me how educated you are by teaching me what they mean. Here’s my bet , you don’t have a clue. By the way , please don’t be stupid enough to think it’s refering to the “President”. At least “Obama” said “God Bless You” as he has more than just American people who listen to his speeches. Other “President’s” in office seemed to only want “GOD” to bless America as if other nation’s didn’t matter. You can thank “Pilgrim Pride” for that as well. If it was not for the fact that I didn’t want to respond with anger , this response would have been a whole lot worse. I don’t recall all this nonsensical hate mongering when both Reagan and Bush had speeches we were shown at school. When our kids are not prepared or even understand that they have to give back to this country for it to evven survive, much less be strong I know who not to blame. Telling children to set goals so they can serve their country as good citizens in the future should not be considered anything but responsible by the leader who worries for our future. Agree with political views or not our kids are being taught hate mongering not a sense of pride or patritism. My ten year old sons believes that the USA will not exsist when he’s an adult because “we are doing as the Romans and letting greed, corruption and political fighting consume us.”. Out of the mouths of babes. I’m not sure what we deserve when we won’t allow the leader of our country to speak to our children about planning for the future. At least they’ll hear it from somewhere because I doubt it’s being taught at home. No body stops arguing and complaining about the others views to realize the upcoming generation has little to no concept of patritism or pride in work. Beliving that one should be self-serving and are simply entitled. At this rate students will never know that setting goals for yourself and for the good of someone else is the right way to live. “Children are listening. They have to be carefully taught.” I weep for our countries future and ashamed for what, we the adults are doing.

Donald R perhaps you should have stayed in school. You do not need an apostrophe to make a word plural. Steve T you are more uneducated. The only thing illegal about the speech was the “God bless” crap at the end. The First Amendment guarantees our freedom as citizens from religious indoctrination. The founding fathers were none too keen on religion. There were many who did not want “In God We Trust” printed on our currency. Eisenhower had no right or legal grounds to add “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance. We are losing our political freedoms to the leftist parties and our religious freedoms to the righties. Telling kids to stay in school and take responsibility for their own educations and their futures is not a crime. Some of the “suggested” side activities are on a little shakier ground.

Cindy Miller , you go girl. I can see you are intelligent enough to weed through the propaganda. Now I don’t say that because you said support “Obama’ , it’s because you saw the destructive effect’s propaganda could have on impressionable mind’s. Kayla touched on an excellent point as well , only she proved how and why this nation is divided. It is because many people[especially parents] , took advantage of these impressionable mind’s[that of children] to promote our poisonous past. The most notable evil to rise from this practice was taught hate. Is it no wonder that this country has different sector’s of government , that rise to power via the political castration of an adverse competitor. This is also true in factionn’s of society. Like Cindy Miller said “One nation under God” followed by a question mark. This simply meant “One nation under God my anal[you know what she/I meant]. Hey Cindy , don’t let people like Steve T. sweat you baby , because he does not understand that our heavenly father is not the only God served. For all the hypocrites , please read in your bible [2 Corinthians 4:4 , 1 John 5:19 , Revelation 12:9-12]. Anyone with intelligence should understand why our world is in a self-destructive state. If you do not read these scripture’s , then you have no right to voice any complaint’s , as you are not speaking with accurate knowledge on the entire matter involved. Where are the moderate Republicans? I swear that not all members of the GOP are raving crazy people. I am a good voting member of the GOP and I’m not insane. I see Obama’s speech (which I just read) as a good thing. Yeah, I read the WHOLE thing. People, please. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and other lunatics and make up your own mind about what goes on. AND please, I know there are other Republicans out there that aren’t insane bigots; speak up! These crazy bastards are hijacking our party. Speak up if you don’t want to lose the next election too!

Yeah, I never liked Obama from the start, for various reasons. An example would be that he only claims his African American side, his dad’s side, but his dad is the guy who abandoned him. And I completely agree with b hill and kayla. Actually this speech reminds me of socialism. Obama has overstepped his boundaries, and that is that, whether you want to admit it or not.

I agree with b hill. Teachers all over America are saying the same thing, it is not the presidents right to raise our children. It is the parents. It is not the presidents job to teach our children, it is the teachers. The government has already messed up our education system that will affect “the future” for years to come. And now to Evelyn, Obama talked about how hard he worked, how hard he persevered, and how he didn’t have any money, eh? Well he certainly did overcome alot, maybe he wanted to build himself up in the eyes of the children. Children are impressionable, and now they will hang on every word the man says.

We are a visual nation. You have all been exposed to what the media wants you to see. You have all been told, what the government wants to show you. But what you have not learned, is to read the speeches, to analyze the thoughts, to think beyond what is said, and realize what is meant. If you do that, you will be suprised of what secondary motives appear.

I thought it was a good idea for the President to talk to the young Americans at first until I read the lesson plans. The President has ruined any trust that I had remaining in any layer of our government. Bush one was investigated for using a simular speech as an election ploy and the dems went wild. Im really tired of the “do as I say not as I do,” standard of both parties.I am definitely tired of being call names by people loyal to Obama but can not logically defend his lies.

The contents of this particular speech in itself are not at issue…the precadence it sets are. Whether George Bush or Borack Obama, this is overstepping political boundaries and bypassing the parent…the speeches to follow (which will, no doubt) may not be quite as appetizing…Americans–we need to all go back to our history books and understand how a nation loses its freedom. This is not about Obama or any other politician…it’s about maintaining parental control and American freedom!

President Obama cares about the students & children of this world. He is a “hands on” father that cares so much for his own daughters. My God, he wants to give a speech to encourage children in education. How socialistic is that? All you fear mongers would do so well in a repressive government, where you would all be jailed for your yammering about our president. Wow, President Obama just said something so evil: You cannot drop out of school & into a good job. Yes, that is really communistic. What do you right wing people want? A bunch of gun-toting, stupid, populace that knows nothing about history, science, mathematics? President Obama is talking about how he had to work hard, he hadn’t any money but he persevered. Now, that is a message rathar than a president read “My little Pony”.
