This morning the President and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan paid a visit to Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia where they had a chat with about 30 6th grade students. The conversation put a face to the people they were trying to help with the President’s latest investment of more than a billion dollars in next year’s budget to amp up the President’s “Race to the Top” program – a competition to incentivize success that has already generated an overwhelming response from states, with over 30 states expected to compete for first-round funding.

This morning I watched Mr. Obama speak to Biden’s task force for the middle class. It was a small room of folks, but the President waxed eloquent. You could tell it was a bit awkward, then I saw the teleprompters and though “ah ha” he was speaking to those in the room, but to the media and the masses. I remember George W. got slaughtered for his speaking abilities; I suppose the teleprompter is Barrack’s crutch.. I don’t think it is much better. John Kerry would be a great orator to have in office.
BREAKING NEWS: All public speaking courses will require the use of teleprompters and emphasize lack of real eye contact with anyone in the room!
Where are the 30 sixth graders? I see three media people and no children. Call me cynical, but I think it’s all a prop. He never looks down or speaks directly to the children. The language he uses is geared toward the adults in the room and the media, not sixth graders. This man is a cruel joke on the American people!
That’s because there are no children in the room, dummy. He spoke to the children in another room without a prompter, then came into this room and gave a speech to televised media, with the prompter. It’s a standard presidential event– giving a policy speech on location (education speech given at a school), and a meet-and-greet with the locals, teachers and kids, before and/or after. GW Bush was doing the same thing on 9/11 at the school in Florida. He didn’t just fly down there to read the pet goat story.
Figures.
This cretin cannot speak to a small group of children without a teleprompter and speechwriter. Not only is he unfit to stand before a roomful of 6th graders, but he is far from fit to lead a nation in desperate need of an economic savior.
All the hype finally wears off when people see that this cretin hid his grades and school transcripts for a good reason – if they were anything good, they would be front page news. He barely graduated.
We have seen what a lousy speaker this fool is without a teleprompter… he just called Magic Johnson “infectious”!
If Bush had done that, it would be front page news for months! Obummer gets a pass…

He didn’t use a teleprompter while talking to 6th graders; he used the teleprompter when talking to the media.
The poor cameraman. He couldn’t even center Obama on the screen because to do so would show the teleprompters.
