Ohio Tornado 2010:Millbury & Wood County Damages

Ohio Tornado 2010:Millbury & Wood County Damages – Ohio Tornados have received a lot of attention in recent days. Seven people were killed in the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that went across the entire Midwest over the weekend. The deaths came in Wood County. A tornado touched down there during the night, and ran through a number of different homes. Among the deaths was a 5 year old child, according to reports. The child lived in Millbury, Ohio. Four other victims of the storm were between the ages of 20 and 56, according to dispatchers who received the calls.
A man was also found dead in the middle of a street in Millbury. There were two adults who died while driving in their van in Lake Township, nearly 5 miles away from Millbury. Along with the seven deaths, there were 11 people who were seriously injured when a storm system rolled through Monroe County. The damage was devastating, and a spokesman for the county’s emergency management division was on scene to help ensure that they could respond to calls as quickly as possible.
Around 500 people who were staying at a water park resort were evacuated to a middle school, according to recent reports. A number of other communities were also severely damaged by the storms in the area, forcing residents to look for places to stay elsewhere.
The National Weather Service said on Sunday that the Tornado was considered to be an F2, which is not normally thought to be all that dangerous, but depending on where the cyclones touch down, things can get out of hand in a hurry, as we recently saw in Ohio.
