“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
Lucille, who was the waitress serving her table explained:
“It was kind of disgusting.”
Sambo is a racial slur used to describe people with mixed indigenous and African heritage in the Caribbean, also for a Black, or South Asian person in the United States.

“Sambo” the main character in an ancient children’s book “Little Black Sambo”.
I’m nearly 60, and I read this book as a child. My recollection is that Little Black Sambo had new shoes, coat and cap, but a tiger demanded the little boy give them over. After the tiger donned all Little Black Sambo’s finery (the shoes on his ears), something made the tiger race round and round a tree until he melted into butter which Sambo spread on pancakes and ate up. Stupid little story, but the name “Sambo” was always used derogatory name for blacks.

A brief scenario of life in America under a McCain/Palin administration:
The least among us, of all ethnicities, including a hefty portion of what now constitutes the “middle-class,” will lose their inherent rights to a good education, decent health care, a job that pays the bills and a safe neighborhood when McCain continues and expands the Bush administration’s enormous cuts in mental health, educational, medical and social programs intended to assist those of us most in need. Faith-based outreach alone cannot keep up with this serious decline in our quality of life and our social safety nets, as much as churches may wish that it could. Over the last eight years, through misappropriation of taxpayers’ money to fund an unnecessary and illegal war that has benefited none but he and his cronies, George W. Bush has already touched off a wave of poverty and crime in cities and towns (yes, even small ones) across the nation. McCain promises even more.
If, despite his own desperate choice of an out of touch, inexperienced, nepotistic beauty queen as his running mate, McCain should go on to win this election, heaven help us. Forget the war on terror abroad; our own streets will grow more dangerous. The poorest of our children (who are also our future, of course, as it will not be comprised only of the privileged) will lose hope for a better life when our public schools lose federal support and fail them even further. Their parents, unable to find work thanks to incessant government-incented outsourcing, will become more desperate to feed and provide medical care for their children, and may in time turn to crime and drugs in greater numbers. Even more American citizens with mental health issues will slip through the cracks to find themselves homeless and wandering. We will face unimaginable consequences for buying into this generation of Republican’s first and biggest lie: The promise of compassionate conservatism.
Does this vision of doom and despair frighten anyone? It should.
With McCain the fight-picker in the highest office of the land, what we stand to lose is our hard won reputation as a nation of righteous, caring and strong individuals, bound together in the spirit of true freedom. When he continues the present wars and begins others, perhaps even resorting to drafting our sons when voluntary enlistment cannot keep up with such war mongering, we could become a third-world country, in essence, full of roaming unemployed workers, ala the Great Depression. Therefore, those of us living in the lulled state of what we believe are white, suburban enclaves, far from the madding (non-white) crowds, are not safe. We are ignorant and blind if we don’t think twice before casting a vote for the far Right-wing.
Pro-lifers, who seem to care more for unborn children than those already alive and struggling to make it, will regret their purely anti-Choice votes if the agenda of overturning Roe v. Wade is achieved. The writing is on the wall: the Republican policy of “Abstinence Only” instead of “Safe Sex” education and accessible, affordable birth control will result in millions more unintended pregnancies. With no choice about whether to have those children or not, their mothers will end up raising them alone, “on your own” as Obama stated so clearly, and without resources, thanks to further cuts in those programs that could have, and should have, helped them. The number of children born alienated and neglected into a cruel world of poverty due to our “Christian” government’s failed policies, will skyrocket. This unwanted baby boom will affect the entire country’s morale and further strangle our gasping economy when these parents have nowhere to turn for help.
This nightmare is literally a heartbeat away. Do not be fooled. As a mother of two young boys, I implore you to remember that Vietnam ran on for 16 years. Do you believe in this war enough to send your own children into battle for those at the top, especially with all the troubles we face here and now at home? Is prayer in school going to create jobs? Let the Creationists teach their myth in their own privately funded schools, just as Catholics and other religious people choose to do. Please, keep personal religious views out of our public classrooms. They are called ‘public’ for a reason: taxpayers of all religions pay for them, not just Fundamentalists.
I am supporting Barack Obama and Joe Biden 100%, as are many of my Evangelical Christian and Catholic friends, the ones who carry true compassion in their hearts, not blind devotion to a political party that has hijacked their faith and used it to fuel a socially divisive and economically damaging ideological agenda. The Obama/Biden ticket is truly our last and best hope, and no, it’s not a gamble. These leaders, with our help, can make America great again through increasing community-, state- and federally-based service opportunities and focusing on energy independence as a way to create a new, dynamic and expanding 21st century workforce.
Desperation exists right outside your doorstep, courtesy of the Republicans. It is high time to ask, “Whom would Jesus vote for?”

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.
“It was kind of disgusting,” Lucille, who is part Aboriginal, said in a phone interview after admitting that she is frightened of being discovered telling folks in the “lower 48” about life near the North Pole.
Then, almost with a sigh, she added, “But that’s just Alaska.”
Racial and ethnic slurs may be “just Alaska” and, clearly, they are common, everyday chatter for Palin.
Besides insulting Obama with a Step-N’-Fetch-It, “darkie musical” swipe, people who know her say she refers regularly to Alaska’s Aboriginal people as “Arctic Arabs” – how efficient, lumping two apparently undesirable groups into one ugly description – as well as the more colourful “mukluks” along with the totally unimaginative “f**king Eskimo’s,” according to a number of Alaskans and Wasillians interviewed for this article.
But being openly racist is only the tip of the Palin iceberg. According to Alaskans interviewed for this article, she is also vindictive and mean. We’re talking Rove mean and Nixon vindictive.

When I find out these answers to these important questions then I’ll know which party to vote for this fall. Until then, I’ll just live with pension theft, debt, housing crisis, gas prices, pollution, war, poverty, ect….

2nd: Whites landed in Africa and started taking then coerced Africans to help them take from the rival tribes. They gladly did that because they wanted those tribes gone to take over their land.
