Controversial Evangelist Pat Robertson has made another shocking statement during an episode of “The 700 Club” television show.

The conservative TV host told viewers that he believes that the government should legalize marijuana.

Pat Robertson explained that while he has never used drugs in his life and has no intentions of ever using any, he thinks that it is wrong to put people in prison just because they were caught using a small percentage of illegal drugs. He said:

“I just think it’s shocking how many of these young people wind up in prison and they get turned into hardcore criminals because they had a possession of a very small amount of a controlled substance. The whole thing is crazy. We’ve said, `Well, we’re conservatives, we’re tough on crime.’ That’s baloney.”

He went on to explain that he supports Colorado and Washington states for trying to make it legal for those 21 and over to use a small amount of pot.

Pat Robertson who made it clear that he is not pushing for young adults to become addicts concluded his remarks by sharing that if the government would legalize pot as they did with alcohol and cigarettes, American’s prisons would be less full.
