Update: Numerous sources have now confirmed that Paul Ryan is the 2012 Republican nominee for vice president.

News broke this evening that Mitt Romney is set to announce his VP on Saturday August 11th at 9am.

Everything – from polls, to the countless changes to his Wikipedia page, to the fact that the announcement will take place on the USS Wisconsin (BB-64) also known as “Wisky” (Wisconsin Ryan’s home state) in Virginia make it look like it will be congressman Paul Ryan.

But the truth of the matter is that there is a huge possibility that Romney is just playing the media.

He has always stated that he was not a big gambler and would therefore not pick such a polemic figure who attempted to end/reform social security for seniors and lose Florida.

The conventional wisdom show that the former Massachusetts governor will most-likely select Tim Pawlenty or Bob McDonnell as his running mate.
