San Diego Earthquake: 5.7 Southern California Quake Today

San Diego Earthquake: 5.7 Southern California Quake Today – At exactly 9:30 p.m. an earthquake that was 5.7 shook Southern California but was initially reported as a magnitude-5.9 temblor.
Primary reports stated that the Cali is still shaking as I type and that the epicenter of the seism was 3.6 miles below an unpopulated area five miles southeast of Ocotillo near the U.S.-Mexico border.
As we said before the impressive temblor (that was felt by many Californians who rapidly went to Twitter to report the matter) was followed by a series of quakes including a 4.5-magnitude tremor , a 3.2 and a 3.9 just minutes after the moderate earthquake had occurred.
The Golden State has been experiencing a series of quakes since Easter Sunday and no scientists can predict what will happen next nor when will they stop.
Despite all the shaking going on in Cali -thankfully there has been no damage reported thus far.
With dozens of aftershocks occurring in the area it is best that all citizens remain in door, follow the news, take necessary measures until further notice.

Omg… :O it was soo scary… my whole house shook and i ran downstairs screaming (:
I WAS SO SCARED!!I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO AND I AM STILL NOT USED TO THE WHOLE EARTHQUAKE THINGS.I AM SO AFRAID TO BE SLEEPING AND THAT A BIG ONE WILL HAPPEN.!
If a big one hits while you’re sleeping, roll off your bed and lay right next to it. It’s one of the safest spots you can find in your house. Go to this address though to learn more: ww.consrv.ca.gov/index/earthquakes/Pages/qh_earthquakes_what.aspx
IT’S GOING TO BE HARD TO GET SOME SLEEP NOW!!I WAS JUST GETTING OVER THE EASTER SUNDAY ONE AND NOW AGAIN!!!.
I knew I felt an earthquake. I was 3 floors up staying at the Travel Lodge on El Cajon Blvd in San Diego, Ca. Out of no where the whole building and windows were shaking like CRAZY. I knew that very moment. It was another true earthquake. I then looked outside and seen my neighbors breath a sigh of relief. Glad to have experienced this awesome life experience once again without damage or harm.
Just Wanna Say, Thanks Nikki for blessing us. RIP
You mean you “SAW” your neighbors??????
Isn’t California the Golden State?
Just a little friendly FYI…Cali is not the “Sunshine State”. That’s Florida. California is the “Golden State”.
i felt it here in riverside, i was the only one in my family that did. trippy feeling.
what part cause im in corona and i didnt feel sh*t i was also drinking with a bunch of ppl but still didnt feel sh*t lol
we felt it in southbay redondo beach
Wow like in a movie… I was screaming like a woman in a Hollywood movie…
We felt it pretty good in Escondido. The Easter quake was a little worse but this one was pretty impressive also. My poor little puppy was shaking so bad, she was sitting on my lap and I thought it was an after shock, my family thought it was hysterical, not funny at all!
Pretty scary. I’m in Coronado and everything started shaking and I’m the third floor. Things came flying off the shelves. Man no thank you. I left Florida a month ago to get away from Hurricanes but these earthquakes are crazy.
I was in the movies at Fashion Valley Mall when it happened! What a great feeling to know your husband is in another state while you are scared! At least I was with friends but still I wish my husband would have been here to comfort me! I’m just saying
DIOS NOS BENDIGA A TODOS….Como siempre en sus manos.. ahora les tocò a ustedes.. mañana kien sabe… un abrazo!!!
I’m in palm desert and a native of california. I’m not new to earthquakes but this one was enough to make me almost get out of my chair. For me…that ‘s a lot.
i live in santee and we felt it pretty good. at first when i felt it, i thought “ok, another small quake” and then all of a sudden, it hit hard. hard enough for me to actually stand and get ready to find a door way. my friend was at chilis and she said everyone sitting at a table stood up and was ready to bolt out the door. this has been some crazy stuff… ive lived here 28 years and ive never felt this many earthquakes in a row. i know the one on easter was kind of a bigger one. but ive felt earthquakes at least once a week since then, nothing big but enough to notice. i just wish someone knew what was going on.
I was at the casino in San Diego , when it happened! OMG! went from having a great time to just wanting to get the heck out of there, and it seemed like never ending it kept going and going….
i truely hope a 14.5 hits so cal soon so i can actually feel it mind you im in OC and i love earthquakes havent felt one in a while….
are u serious dude we would be dead in the blink of an eye!!
Hey it head, there can’t be a 14.5 there can only go up to 10.5
I was in the sunshine staet to;)-
I was on the 23rd floor of the SanDiego Marriott hotel and marina and the feeling was impressive to say the least. The hotels alarms were sounding; that was more annoying than scary. Flying back east today.
I was at the San Diego Zoo on Easter Sunday, when the 7.2 quake rippled beneath us. The flamingos knew something was amiss long before us humans. It sure was something to see all of their heads pop up at once.
The other night, the earthquake did alarm me … and tossed CDs from the shelf. That’s when I leapt out of my chair.
I’m relatively new to San Diego, having moved from the flatlands of Minnesota at the end of 2008. Where I used to live, the sky would open up without warning. That was frightening too. The last severe thunderstorm I experienced blew windows out on the 2nd level of the home.
So, no matter where we live, we must deal with environmental creepiness. Whether it is a hurricane, tornado, mudslide, or earthquake, we are at the mercy of the elements while they have their fun.
In 1970, predictions were that California was going to crack off the continent. I had a poster hanging on my bedroom wall that read “Goodbye California.” 40 years later, it is still here … and I am too.
One thing is certain, I don’t miss Minnesota Winters!
I’m from arizona and there are barely any earthquakes and not many disasters haha just watch out for scorpions and spiders lol
I live in a townhouse in Fletcher hills when it and hit and man it shook.. The good is that the wife and i were doing some insanity so we were jumping all over than place anyways.. but when i stopped jumping the quake was just passing… a really uneasy feeling.
I was at a walmart in oceanside area when it hit. Everybody stopped shopping and everything was shaking pretty hard. Signs were swinging back and forth and stuff on display started moving towards the edges of the shelves, and the ground rumbled pretty hard too. It was enough to make the whole store just pause on shopping. Pretty crazy, just preparing for THE BIG ONE.
oohh no! dont scared about the earthquakes. just relax, and do you best. breath and relax. but wow, that was a big earthquake. 7.2? that why california in red code. ok. that care guys.
