    1. Glenn Howard says:

      IS AMERICA REALLY READY?

Is America really ready for socialism?

Is America really ready for the erosion of constitutional freedoms that would most certainly occur under a socialist president?

Is America really ready for the free market system, the basis for its economic superiority and technological advances unmatched anywhere in the world, to be replaced by a system of government control and wealth redistribution that would be corrosive to the human initiatives that made it great?

Is America really ready for the across-the-board escalation of taxes that would be required to finance a socialist government’s massive entitlement programs?

Is America really ready for the pressures that will be felt- indeed, are already being felt- within Christian circles for having taken a stand for Bible truth regarding gay marriage, pornography, infanticide and radical Islamic fundamentalism?

Again, are Americans really ready for socialism? Some people are; most people are not, but they don’t know the true nature of socialism, which candidate is a socialist, or the true price involved. The loss of individual freedom is that price, and once it is gone you cannot get it back. The election of a socialist, besides being a gigantic monument to the gullibility of man, would be the initial phase of the systematic dismantling of the constitution and America as we know it, a true turning point for what is now the greatest nation on earth. And as a great man once said “When the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”

Two major steps on the path toward socialism are the cultivation of the entitlement mentality and the fomentation of class envy. The race card and condemnation of the wealthy are the primary means used to accomplish these significant steps, and major candidates are even now exploiting this leverage for all it is worth. Another significant factor is the demeaning of Christianity and its values. Why? Because socialism holds that there is no such thing as evil, except to be a Christian, and that the state is the true god. It maintains that Christianity is insidiously evil because its principles oppose those of the state. Thus ridicule and oppression of Christianity are becoming gradually and progressively more intense, and the momentum of atheism is increasing daily. Ironically and astoundingly, tolerance- even coddling- of Islamic terrorism is preferred and advised by many over the promulgation of Judeo-Christian values and above the strengthening of national security. Think not? Think ACLU.

Make no mistake, if it were not for the constitution and the fact that it is established on Judeo-Christian principles, as repugnant as they are to socialists, the United States would never have become the land of opportunity that it is today. Its destruction will insure that America as we know it will gradually but inexorably disintegrate.

Without a doubt the preservation of constitutional force in America is of supreme importance to the survival and proliferation of true democracy and the freedoms it bestows. Truly democratic nations prosper in every way, and inasmuch as America is the vanguard it cannot become a socialist state. Thus, it is critical that the future occupant of the oval office be a man whose perception of America is such that he realizes that its greatness is rooted in the constitution, and that the opportunities it offers to all men are directly linked to its preservation as it was envisioned by the founding fathers at the time of its inception. This perception is in diametric opposition to that of socialism. It is vital that his core of political beliefs is based on an understanding that what made America great in its beginning is what will continue to make it great in the future.

Though many do not realize it, within a short period of time and with only a few quick strokes of the congressional pen, legislation could easily be passed that would alleviate illegal immigration, reduce internet porn to insignificance and virtually eliminate illegal drug traffic with its many ramifications. The Social Security system could be stabilized for decades to come and any potential energy crisis could be permanently averted. Congress knows this, and the vast majority of Americans want it. But it will not happen. Why? Because the ego driven nature of the individuals that comprise both houses of congress and the deep pockets of special interest groups, both at home and abroad, guarantees that “you do not bite the hand that feeds you.” Indeed, with rare exception, the will of the people is not even an issue. Only when power is sufficiently threatened by public outcry will members of congress act in the best interests of the American people. For indeed, the game is all about power and nothing else. This is particularly true with socialists, for whom the constitution is only an impediment. Think not? Think “Fairness Doctrine.”

Two divergent paths beckon to America, and the election of November 2008 will determine a direction that may well be a tipping point. As candidates for the leadership of our nation become progressively more defined by their history, their associations and their actions, and not just by their rhetoric, let us hope and pray that common sense and the desire for all that is truly good will prevail in what could be the most significant election of our time. America is not perfect, but it is far better than anything else. Its constitution must survive. In a very short time we will all be in a voting booth, and more than we know depends on just how we pull that lever. Yes, America, you are STILL great. Please stay that way.

    2. Tony St. James says:

Glenn, what you fail to realize is that both presidential tickets are populated by socialists. Both are big government collectivists who want to take what does not belong to them (your property and the fruit of your labor) to redistribute and spend as they deem appropriate. The candidates proposed budgets will feature identical line items; the only difference will be the amount spent per line item.

The only legitimate constitutional function of our government is to protect and defend the liberty of each American — most especially from the encroachment of the government. I haven’t heard either candidate acknowledge that basic fact. All I hear from them is blather about how they will spend the property they steal from me.

Glenn Howard: If you don’t think the fed’s 700 billion dollar bailout is not socialism, I have a bridge to nowhere to sell you.

Glenn Howard, if you don’t think the fed 700 billion dollar bailout of wall street is NOT socialism, I have a bridge to nowhere for sale just for you.
