    Dear Ms Winfrey,

It is with much gratitude that I write, as you have inspired me enough to contact both my senators and my representative to urge them to do all in their power to promote the passage of Bill 1738. What a moving show today…I applaud your courage and forthrightness to expose all of us to this epidemic of these child predators who have created in great numbers their obscene sites on the internet. Theirs is a world of insane darkness, of horrific sexual abuse and exploitation, and they have done much harm and evil to innocent children of all ages.

May this be the beginning of a safer United States for our beloved children who God has charged us with instilling loving trust and protecting them from harm of all kinds.

God bless you for all you do in the name of all that is good.

I pray that bill 1738 will provide more people and technology resources to find the sites, shut down every last one and bring these hideous predators to justice.

    My humble thanks,

    Marcia P Hill

I have heard that the reason why this bill is opposed is that it is bundled with many other bills that are not at all relevant to fighting child porn and would spend millions of our money on stupid stuff. Senator Coburn allegedly sponsored a move to separate the bills and only pass the child porn one but that was rejected. Does anyone know the truth of this matter? I think we’re all against child porn but if allegations are correct, it is sick that the Democrats are using this platform to push their other agendas.

As my 16 yr. old daughter and I watched your program last evening, I said outloud, I just found the kind of job I want to do. After listening to the horror, and a few words from me, my daughter chose to delete her “myspace’ profile. How horrible for our children, babies who cannot protect themselfs, I wished I could have started right then and there, working to eliminate those who choose to pleasure themselfs with the souls and bodys of ones so helpless.

I am 34 years old and yesterday was the first time I ever sat down and viewed an episode of Oprah, at that I only watched the second half. I was sickened to think that there are so may people out there just looking for an opportunity to hurt our children. I think that in this age of the internet child porn has become more available to these sick people and this is creating a demand, putting our kids in more danger than ever before. This has to be stopped! After the Oprah show was over I sent all my friends and co-workers the information on this Bill – urging them to contact their State Senator and make the voices of our children be heard. I am not an Oprah fan so I don’t know what her political views are or aren’t, but I am passionate about my family and loved ones and keeping them save.

Where can I find the complete bill so that I can see what else is bundled in with this bil?.

I think that it is very unfortunate and sickening that our Senators don’t think enough of the children of America to introduce this act all by itself. Their agendas are more important than millions of innocent children who are being abused every day.

All it would take is one or two of their children being molested to change their opinions. We need to get these predators locked up for life and it needs to be done now.

It’s not true. Look up the bill at frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=110_cong_bills&docid=f:s1738is.txt.pdf and read for yourself.

Oprah’s show was really necessary, however there are a lot of problems with the bill she is asking people to support. Mainly it includes a TON of random extra proposals which have nothing to do with child abuse. These cost money. The reason it’s not going through the senate is because some senators want to break off all the superflous parts. So our letters should really be asking for this result.

Please read the article below it helps break down the issue better.
We want to make the best legislation. To do this, we need to be informed.

oprah is doing a good thing, we just need to make sure we know everything before we vote something.

Even if the bill is bundled with other “democratic agendas” is the cost so great that it outweighs the safety of our children? Why base your decision on “I heard”? If you want accuse, do your homework first and get your facts straight. That kind of rhetoric is why bureaucracy prevails in times most perilous. How much worse do things have to get before we decide we need a change?

I’d just like to say a hearty thank you to Denise for taking that extra step to substantiate TRUTH.

I was horrified to see the abuse our precious children suffer and at times became physically ill watching the show, BUT for someone who doesn’t pay attention to the ‘bills’ or ‘politics’, this sure made me WANT to get involved!

Our children are our most precious assets, they are our gifts and it is time that as a nation we put a stop to anybody bringing harm to any one of our children!

I don’t believe in rehabiliation and more often then not we release pedophiles back out into our very own neighborhoods so they can re-offend! When will we have enough? When can our children begin to feel safe in our arms? No war matters as much, oil prices concerns fall the way side, and who owns what land really doen’t compare to the money we MUST spend to ensure that every abuser of a child be locked away forever!

I have written all 3 Congressmen in my district and the president of the USA - of which I am sure that will do no good. Afterall, I am just another small voice shouting for change BUT at least I am now shouting!

May God bless our littlest ones!

I would like to read the bill and don’t know how to find it. Please give me the site so i can read it.

Their decision may be unfair, but that’s life. You can’t always protect your children. And if we somehow protect every child, then your children will hate you for that. They’ll rebel and do whatever to get you to get off their back. And even if the bill is passed, not all pedos will be put to jail.

i’M really sadden by the whole thing. we as parent’s can only guide our children as best we can .. a single mother of 3 ages 24,13,and 6.
What Oprhas doing is fantastic EDUCATING US!!!!
If it wasn’t for the show i would never have even been aware of the 1738 bill. I am sadded that the Senator’s do not propose the bill itself so more can be aware. we dont have funds for our scolls or funds to have enough programs to support to help eliminate the predtor’s. But we can BAIL OUT BANKS !!! That is only going to end up costing the TAX PAYER’S … I need to completely read the bill Beacause there’s always SOMETHING that is never discussed that could really end up costing we the people. Yes we must stop them from hurting the children .. But we the people need to really educate our selves and understand the complete 1738 bill. Then take full action to help support the bill.

They all are in my prayers!!!!
    GOD BLESS !!

Here’s what the children think of Oprah’s bill.

    Dear Senator Boxer,
Parents, grandparents, and neighborhoods try to watch all the children and help to keep them safe from pedifiles and kidnappers. All those sickos should be put to death instead of just a few years behind bars. Then they start in on our children all over again. The authorities have the means to find these pedifiles but they need the money to do the job.
Please help the Senate Bill 1738 to pass.

I’ve called, written and emailed my reps. thanks to Oprah’s show. Say what you will about the woman, but at least she’s causing an uproar that gets people talking, asking the right questions, and demanding that we do better by our children. This is NOT a red or blue issue. These innocent babies and children don’t give a dam if it’s a republican or democrat who rescues them, just someone anyone!!! Instead of giving these demons free room and board courtesy of us the taxpayers why don’t we just castrate them all and throw them in a black hole.

I will be calling my senator to vote yes on bill 1738 to save our children .

I believe that child abusers should not be given a second chance to do it again. Either they should be locked up for life without a chance for parole, or givin the gas chamber. I believe also that they should have to suffer for what they have done. Not have an easy way out. Child abusers don’t give the children an easy way out.

I would just like to say. How can you say that. There is a difference in a child being a child and a child being raped and molested. would your kids thank you for letting someone touch them. and hurt them. I doubt they would say hey mom, dad, you wanted us to live life to the fulliest. we got everything we wanted to experince. you are wrong. just like the criminals out here. shame on you.

Kudos to senate for passing sb 1738 to put pedophiles in prison long term, if it works and I hope so. I urge everyone to support SNAPPER the most controversial look at this issue on YOUTUBE under search ’snapper laro.’ Laro’s great work will now be a staged reading in beacon, NY on nov 1st for general audiences sat 5-7pm. Visit birchdelpoets.com for snapper flyer info. Congrats!

SNAPPER will change the way we all view pedophilia and is a dramatic and soul felt tribute to the deceased and NOT a focus on the predator. Remember: ‘everytime a pedophile kills a child society is deprived of a wholly benevolent angel, who could have changed the world.’ s.w. laro author of DELCINA’S TREE.

I watched the show as well.
Everything should be done to just do it.
Shiat ! I would keep in goverment anyone who pushed the bundle of money in the right direction to get this problem sorted.

Problem is, lots and lots of money, more and more management positions with income costs, then the money is gone.

If 1 billion dollars was thrown at it how much would it cost to get people working on the project, training etc etc.

Perhaps we put 10 billion towards it to get it off to a great start.

    Lets save our kids.

And if you are an offender. I will personally start a fund for you to go see adult services for free to stop you interfering with our kids. If its loving you want, I will pay you to go away from the kids and into the arms of paid professionals who will do what ever sick’o things you want.

Leave the kids alone. How sad.
