The gunmen who have been charged in the case are Rodney fuller and Matthew Shallenberger, who have received a life sentence in prison. Shallenberger committed suicide while behind bars in 2006.
Christie Lynn Bean, the daughter who was also involved in the killing, served five years because she knew about the plan but did not alert authorities. Lewis’ attorney claims that Shallenberger admitted to coming up with the plan himself before killing himself, but several appeals have been denied.
