Thomas Magill Falls 40 Stories: Saved By Car – Thomas Magill from New York City is certainly counting his blessings today. Last night, he fell more than 40 stories from the rooftop of an apartment building and survived after landing on a parked car. The 22 year old man reportedly jumped from the high rise at West 63rd street, according to witnesses who saw the fall. He landed in a Dodge Charger after falling through the windshield. In the fall he suffered broken legs, and police have stated that he is currently in critical condition.

The owner of the car, Guy McCormack has said that he believes that the rosary beads that he kept inside of the car are responsible for saving the man’s life. Police are still investigating why he jumped from the building amid speculation that he was attempting to commit suicide.

This is not the first time that someone has survived a fall from a high rise in New York City. Alcides Moreno was a window washer who fell over 47 stories in December 2007. Reports immediately after his fall said that doctors expected that he would be able to walk again at some point. It is not clear if Thomas Magill will be able to walk again, if he is able to survive his injuries. The chances of surviving a far that fall are slim to none, and it is amazing that he was able to live through the experience.
