Todd Bachman Elisabeth Bachman:Olympic Stabbing Hugh McCutcheon Olympic Volleyball Tragedy-Todd Bachman was murdered in what is being called the “Olympic stabbing” last night.Todd Bachman who was the father of Elisabeth Bachman a former Olympian and the father-in-law of U.S. men’s volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon was stabbed to death,while visiting the 13th century Drum Tower in Beijing.Todd Bachman’s wife, Barbara and their female Chinese tour guide were also attacked by the Chinese man named Tang Yongming who then committed suicide by jumping from the second level of the Drum Tower, about 130 feet up.Todd Bachman, 62, died from stab wounds, Barbara Bachman and the tour guide were taken to an area hospital with what were described as “serious and life-threatening injuries.”Their daughter, Elisabeth, was with them but not hurt. She played for the U.S. women’s national team at the 2004 Olympics and was married to McCutcheon in 2006.Todd Bachman was the chairman and CEO of Bachman’s Flowers, a Minneapolis-based floral company that was started by his great grandfather in 1885.
