Torry Hansen Tried To Adopt Another Child – Torry Hansen, the adoptive mother of a young Russian boy who was sent back on a plane alone to Russia when Hansen began to fear for her life, was apparently attempting to adopt a second child. Hansen had put the young boy on a plane headed for Russia after the boy had drawn a picture of their house with it on fire and the family still inside. Hansen has since claimed that she feared for her life and made a bad decision to send him back by way of plane instead of going through the proper channels. The way that the situation was handled has deeply upset the adoption community as well as representatives of Russia and in the United States.
Hansen had reportedly made contact with a second adoption agency in an attempt to adopt a second child from the Soviet Republic of Georgia. Hansen had reportedly become disheartened with the first company after she was not pleased with the personality of the first child. That company was the World Association for Children and Parents, which is an organization that is based in Renton, Washington. The group had suggested that Hansen wait before making a second adoption, saying that it would be best that she settle in with the boy before adding to the family.
Only months later Hansen would end up placing the boy on a plane headed back to Russia in hopes that the adoption would be annulled. She had placed a note in the boys pocket that stated that he had issues with violence and other psychiatric problems, and that she no longer wished to continue serving as his adoptive parent.
Both Torry and Nancy Hansen have refused to interviewed unless they are going to be charged with a crime. Potential charges that they could face include abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and educational neglect. The educational neglect charge has been thrown around because records show that the boy never registered for public school or home school.

Yes, we don’t know the entire story and I’m sure the child was beyond difficult as any poor lamb would be after being raised in the Russian orphanage system. He – and she – needed some major therapeutic intervention, instead he got a one way ticket back to the system that failed him the first time around. Disgraceful. What parent (via natural or adoptive means) hasn’t had a “oh my God” moment when they feel their kid is just way too much to handle? THAT is what being a parent is about…you keep parenting.
I’m sure it will all be fine once Hollywood rewards Ms. Hansen with a major book and movie deal.

Seriously?! As a mother of a child that has a diagnosed mental illness, I had to fight with all of my strength to get him help. How DARE she just send him back. She just made it 1,000 times worse by confirming his fears that he was no wanted and she never loved him. Furthermore, why did he not ever go to school, either at home or at a public/private school. This woman likely has no business being a nurse either. A nurse KNOWS better than to do something like this… There is ALWAYS help, if it were seriously THAT BAD, there’s always the united way emergency psychological team. They will come to you just as soon as they can drive to where you are, and mediate, evaluate, recommend, and if needed assist you to get the help you, your child or frankly anyone you know, the help they need.

U could expect danger>> The orphanage conditions were: the” children were never held”, never let outside to be in the sunshine or allowed to play, their food variety was sparse, many were vitamin deficient,clothing was what was available. conditions of squalor prevailed. This because the Romanian, gov’t did not have funds. Now, is this the same as which this mom experienced with this adoption!? If the child had no character, no response to what was right; some were fire starters with no knowledge of right or wrong, just children that are being present,without understanding, but absent from knowledge of family. and the worst problems become real.. We do not know what this woman had to face, in legalities and this action might have been her only out..papaspeppers
oh, yes, Shep on COP chases, ALWAYS DANGEROUS why do they not have a low charged powder in a bullet that will penetrate the radiators, of the xmission and cooling rad’s, to be fired from an area where they put down the spiked strips? Or fired from over head to penetrate the engine block? Much more has opened since this April article and comments. First, not many articles at the beginning of this event told that Miss Torry and Mommie had asked Agency for Handicapped boy and went to Russia, checked him out and returned saying he was too handicapped. Then asked for a non-handicapped boy, went back to Russia and got Artym. Tales they told about their reasoning are beyond belief. Torry told co-worker RN’s at VA Hosp in Murfreesboro that she wanted to get a Russian boy to grow up with her sister’s boy who has Russian Heritage. (why would she have asked for a handicapped boy as her first son, to grow up with her non-handicapped nephew?) Then after she and mommie airmailed Artym back to Russia alone, reporters stationed around Torry and mommie’s Shelbyville residences which were connected by privacy fence, mommie explained to reporters that her baby girl wanted a family and that’s why she adopted… so why did some of those reporters call Logan Torry’s biological son and others say they couldn’t determine parentage and called him a “bio” boy? Then, she tells residents in Chapel Hill where the “family” lived before Shelbyville that she was hiding her son from his father… and how did the US State Dept rep who was taking a team to Russia to get them to thaw the freeze on Americans adopting their kids, get away with telling the TV interviewer when asked if he had talked to Torry “NO” and we do not intend to talk to her, there is no need to talk to her. Wha??? Who is the Powerperson who is protecting these beings? What are they getting out of it? Why did Torry have a house trailer in Chapel Hill down the road near the deadend, a driving distance from the Hansen’s residence, that had windows covered with black plastic but curious people peeked in and saw lots of video equipment, cameras, photography equipment? Now that the “family” is back in northern Calif – public records show Nancy and Tracy who have the same address in Hayfork, sued a couple with a video business on June 24, 2010 via the Shasta County Small Claims in Redding for $5000 which was the amount claimed given to the man on June 10, 2010 as a deposit on a real estate purchase and claimed he would not return the deposit. The suit was dropped… without confirming if he gave the deposit back or gave them the property. Wait, it was Torry with the camera and equipment… why was Tracy on the filing? Papa Erik’s logging business in Hayfork shows a Business Dissolution on California Secy State website on August, 2010. Well, so much was going on in Oregon with a 7 yr/o disappearance, it’s easy to overlook the goings on with the people just across the border, eh?
