Vicki Van Meter Pic:Vicki Van Meter Death – Vicki Van Meter who was only 11 years age was one of the youngest person to pilot a plane across America in 1993.In 1994 when she turned 12 Van Meter became the youngest girl to fly a trans Atlantic flight.But in 2008 at age 26, Van Meter committed suicide.Maine press that recognized her as a notable resident of the state who died in 2008 wrote:

As a sixth-grader in September 1993, Van Meter flew from Augusta, Maine, to San Diego over five days in her single-engine Cessna 172. Nine months later, Van Meter flew from Augusta to Glasgow, Scotland, and was credited at the time with being the youngest girl to make a trans-Atlantic flight.
