Voodoo Sex Ceremony Caused Fire In New York

A massive Brooklyn fire that killed one person and injured scores of firefighters and building residents was started by a voodoo sex ceremony gone awry.
A woman reportedly paid a voodoo priest $300 to conduct a life-changing ritual on her at his Flatbush apartment Feb. 19.
The priest had lit a large number of candles for the ritual. Afterward, while the candles remained lit; the priest and the woman stripped and began to have sex, sources told the New York Daily News.
During intercourse, flames from candles on the floor ignited the bed sheets and the man tried to put the growing blaze out with sink water. His roommate apparently made things worse when he opened a window and door which sucked the fire out into the buildings hallway “creating a blowtorch effect,” a fire official said.
The blaze torched the fifth and sixth floors of the E. 29th St. apartment building. Mary Feagin, a 64-year-old retired teacher, died in the fire but a cause has not been determined. Twenty firefighters and 11 residents were injured and 47 families were left homeless.
So far, fire officials are saying no crime was committed and the blaze was accidental.
“Nobody sees a crime right now,” one law enforcement source said. “It was an accident. Maybe they weren’t careful, but they did try to put it out.”
