What Time Does Trick Or Treating Start? – Today is Halloween – a celebration that comes to us from the Celtic culture and is mainly held in the U.S. on the night of October 31st ( the event has gradually made it way to certain European,Caribbean and Latin American countries as well). Children dress for the occasion and walk through the streets, going from door to door asking their neighbors for candy.

After knocking on a door the children use the expression “Trick or treat” or “Sweet or trick”. Originally this is how the “Trick or treat” process used to work – if the adults give the child candy – the kid would take it as a treat and go on to the next door.

But if they refused to give out sweets the children would take their revenge on the neighbor by throwing eggs or shaving cream at their door.

As for What Time Does Trick or Treating Start? There is no real clear rule when it comes to “Trick or treating”, it is up to the parents to decide.

However most parents do agree on the following terms:

Let kids under 7 years of age go “Trick or treating” while the sun is still shinning and make sure there is strict adult supervision at all time.

For children/teens between 7 and 15 “Trick or treating” should be over by 9:00 pm (seeing that school resumes on Monday) – with adult supervision as always.
